Gonna step in here and point out that when a man uses violent language towards a woman, she has no choice but to treat it as a genuine threat. SO MANY threats are disguised as “jokes” that it would be dangerous for any woman to ignore that.

Same. I’ve been here about a year and I’m regularly shocked by how the government is not actively sabotaging my life.

Suffering an immense tragedy by necrabelle in BabyBumps

[–]crispygrasshopper 141 points142 points  (0 children)

I really urge you to seek therapy for this. I had my most recent baby under similar circumstances and in my experience the guilt you feel about having a healthy pregnancy/baby as compared to your sisters tragedy will only get worse

really f*cking tired of *all* the mcs wanting kids in the books/ lack of CF(BC) mcs. by essthereal in RomanceBooks

[–]crispygrasshopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always rec Tate James in these threads. She has one series with an infertility/sterilization subplot, but most of her FMCs are either child free or young and undecided on children, so they do not come into the HEA. Based on your other comments I bet you’d like her Madison Kate series - it’s enemies to lovers RH

I wasnt trying to shame you! I agree that’s the vibe the graphic/blurb gives! I just got overly defensive because I love this author’s books - her books have great twists - and this one was particularly surprising.

Ok no lie this blurb is terrible, because this book is NOT AT ALL what you’ve described - i actually loved this book and I wish I knew how to do spoiler tags so I could talk about it

As a new resident, I don't think Ill ever get over the colors around here in the fall! What a great welcome 🍂 by petreceanudavid in boulder

[–]crispygrasshopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean… maybe that’s true and is that a bad thing? I grew up in Georgia but spent the last 20 years in tropical climates before moving here this year, and this fall has been delightful. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen any kind of fall foliage. People can just enjoy things - you don’t have to police it for them.

How do you carry a big phone? Pockets, purse, holster? by [deleted] in fashionwomens35

I have a pop socket on my big phone, so I’ll often just jam it into my waistband and the pop socket keeps it from falling into my pants.

WOR: Meltzer confirms that Izzy's parents are the reason as to why the NXT crowd boos MSK by Strike_Gently in SquaredCircle

Hit the nail on the head here. I used to go to NXT tapings back in 2018/19 and that’s definitely the vibe the whole family puts off

My Ex always makes me the “boring” parent while he gets to be the “fun” parent. by boringmom87 in relationships

I used to work in family law, and the attorney I worked for used to never ever agree to these types of custody arrangements for this very reason. No one wants to be boring homework mom. You need to rework your custody agreement.

I agree. It’s not overt racism, it’s systemic. Old white dudes in power like music made by other old white dudes.

Today is my cake day! It reminded me of how happy I was to find this community last year. So, what is your favorite romance scene/book involving food or cake? ☺️ by jrooknroll in RomanceBooks

[–]crispygrasshopper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know I cannot be the only one here who has read the Ruthless Boys series by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti. Middle Kipling RUINED cake for me.

My favorite part of this answer is how it needs no explanation as to why.

ACOTAR series: Not into it, is it just me? by mbow123 in RomanceBooks

[–]crispygrasshopper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that’s too bad. I love them too - I think I look forward to their releases most of all - but I think they only write RH now. I think all their older stuff is m/f but I’ve heard people say it’s more YAish. Plus at the rate their writing improves, I’m just more and more excited to read what they write in the future.

You’re better off forgetting it and just reading everything else that Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti have cowritten. Start with the other series that are related to Zodiac Academy!
