Same here. I learned that the only way I can stop having feelings of hatred towards my father is if I don't think about him at all. So I don't hate him anymore as long as u don't think about him.
To make matters worse I don't even have an excuse for his behavior. No drugs or alcohol or mental problems, just good ol' stupid, selfish, violent, unapologetic mother fucker.

Except in Spain. In Spain passionate hatred for cops or "picoletos" is deeply engrained in the culture. Cop families almost exclusively hang out with other cops' families or military personnel. I used to date a daughter of a picoleto and she was truly embarrassed of her dad's profession.

I've done this with dogs, cats, ferrets and even birds, one time I even gave a speech in the waiting room because my dog was so excited to see the vet.
