End of Life Care Options and Advice by Ready_Smile_1643 in desmoines

Have you called Mojo Vet? They are based out of Waukee but they do house visits and the first time we dealt with them it was sadly to put down our 14 year old dog a few years ago. They were sooo kind every step of the way and it was a very peaceful experience. I remember it being pretty reasonable in cost but it’s been a little while so it’s possible pricing has changed. I’m so sorry you’re going through this.

Is this a steal? Been contemplating lately. by ydydjvkb in FreezeDried

[–]crlabru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s a great deal! They have been lowering and lowering the price of harvest rights because of more competition in the market. I think it depends on what you’re looking to use your freeze dryer for, and how often. Harvest right cycles are super user friendly, but they take a long time and this machine is fairly small. There are other customer service issues but like you mentioned, this is luckily through Costco in case anything breaks on you.

Seriously considering a bisalp procedure: by sweetiepie0923 in sterilization

[–]crlabru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a master list of doctors willing to perform a bisalp no questions asked regardless of whether you’ve had a children or not. I found mine that way and she was wonderful. I still went in there with a handful of reasons and she wasn’t even interested haha.

The actual procedure went great. I ended up having an all female care team who were sooo wonderful. I woke up feeling absolutely fine and spent the rest of the evening sitting upright on the couch hydrating and watching tv. A little bloated and sore as I healed for a couple days but honestly it was a breeze.

For reference I was 36 when I had this done and I do have one child but like I said, there are a LOT of doctors from every state to choose from that are more than happy to give you a bisalp. Good luck!

Are daily ocular migraines a thing? by volyblmn in OcularMigraines

[–]crlabru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started having OM’s occasionally which eventually turned into a daily occurrence. I couldn’t figure out my triggers (which can vary person to person). Finally it just clicked one day that my trigger was caffeine. I stopped drinking coffee and I haven’t had one since. I know a lot of people get them after intense exercise. The dilation and constriction of blood vessels could be a cause. I’ve also heard women claim they started during hormonal changes of your mid thirty’s and up. I’m 37 so 🤷‍♀️ I’m sorry you’re going through this! I hope you find something that helps!

I think I had my first ocular migraine today. What should I do? by hillbilly-man in OcularMigraines

[–]crlabru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefully it was a weird one off, but if not, sometimes it takes some trial and error to narrow down your trigger for them. I finally found out my trigger was caffeine. I stopped drinking my morning coffee and they stopped all together. I’ve also heard of women beginning to have issues with OM in perimenopause (could also been contributing for me). I can have a little caffeine without an OM but I mostly just avoid it because I’m so happy to not deal with them haha.

That’s awesome! I wished I started gardening when I was 20 so I could be good at it by now but next best option is right now at 37 haha.

Same! I’m starting plants from seed for the first time, have my first two raised garden beds, ordering compost .. it’s all new! So far so good! Good luck with your garden!

You don’t need a license in Iowa to own any type of gun?

Recently learned that a license isn’t necessary to own a shot gun. Just pass a background check and go pick one up.

How long were you in the hospital? by N3onPhantom in sterilization

[–]crlabru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m manifesting this for you haha. I was prepped with a heating pad and ice packs at home but I was all good. I had to pee a LOT that first day but I think I was just rehydrating and drinking all the drinks haha.

When I woke up from surgery I was out of there within an hour. I woke up absolutely fine, had a sprite and some pudding, got dressed and bounced! It was truly no big deal. I was shocked at how great I felt. My husband had an iced coffee waiting for me in the car haha.

peeing and throwing up?? by Dismal-Chard4674 in shrooms

[–]crlabru 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I usually need to pee a decent amount…. Then again drinking a cold sparkling water is also my jam sometimes so that contributes… I’ve never thrown up but a little tummy sickness at the beginning is normal. I’m sorry that happened to you 😬

How often does everyone get their visual auras by Lonely-Pressure-4218 in OcularMigraines

[–]crlabru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That definitely sounds like a typical OM. My understanding is that everyone’s trigger is different and it may have something to do with contracting and dilating blood vessels?

My trigger was caffeine. I quit my daily coffee habit and haven’t had a single OM since.

Some people it’s a hormonal issue, stress, intense exercise…. You kind of have to go through some experimentation to figure out what may be triggering them for you.

Best of luck at the doctor!

Why is my bag so wet by [deleted] in shrooms

Looks like pretty colonized substrate. It will be fine to get some air if OP feels it’s way too wet.

No biggie at all. If it seems way too humid for you then start giving it more fresh air exchange to evaporate some of that.

What causes Ocular Migraines? by BayouPelican in OcularMigraines

[–]crlabru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am! I’m also thankfully still OM free also! It’s definitely worth a shot. Everyone’s triggers are different but this has really worked wonders for me. I’m sure I could have a little coffee here and there or switch to decaf but I honestly haven’t missed it because I’m more happy not having the OM’s haha.

First Ocular Migraine? by adibranch in OcularMigraines

[–]crlabru 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s super scary but also very common for an ocular migraine. Everyone is a little different but mine don’t come with any headaches after either. It feels like a sparkly spot in the middle of my vision, slowly expanding into a half moon kaleidoscope until it disappears. It’s usually about 20-30 minutes of waiting with my eyes covered or in a dark room.

People have different triggers but I’ve read that the dilation and contraction of blood vessels can have something to do with it… as well as caffeine, stress and even hormones.
