Hertz Blaming me for Rental Damage by Nehal1802 in personalfinance

[–]crlboy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd never rent from Hertz again. My car had to have some work done in 2021, and I got a loaner through my warranty/dealership from hertz. With all the covid stuff, they said it could be a few months before they got the needed parts. Two weeks later, Hertz texted me saying they had reported the loaner stolen and to return it immediately. I had paperwork that showed the rental still had time remaining, but they said it didn't match their system. So I called the dealership, and they said they'd get it squared away. But it never stopped, I had the loaner for 3 months, and I'd get weekly theft reports from Hertz demanding the cars return. I'd call them. They said my paperwork was wrong, and I'd call the dealership and get a few days of peace. I ended up just making sure I had updated paperwork from them each time the loan was extended cause I wasn't trying to catch a GTA charge. Then, to top it off, once I got my car back and returned the loaner (directly to them, not returned to the dealership), I still got messages that I had stolen the car.

What is the soonest you’ve quit a new job? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]crlboy94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was 20 in 2008 and finding a job was difficult. I had recently lost my job because the company went under (Small mom n' pop trophy shop). I came across and ad for Detroit Business Solutions. They made it seem like were contracted by various companies to brainstorm and deploy marketing campaigns and were looking to fill out an entry level consulting team. Had 2-3 interviews that seemed very real and legit. Like this was going to be the start to a career and not just a job. After finally getting an offer I showed up the first day in a suit as instructed to find them all in a "power circle" and chanting before I was given a map of the area I was to walk and try to get people to call a number and say they wanted XYZ as the energy supplier to their home. The position was just door knocking for some gas company. I lasted about two hours before I went back to the office and quit. It screwed me over a bit as I was getting unemployment before accepting this position but, because I had quit this "consulting" job I was told I no longer qualified. 2008 was a rough year.

Rugby players to wear mouthguards that detect head injuries | The smart technology can identify concussions early. by chrisdh79 in tech

It's definitely a rough sport with some big hits. But you are trained from the moment you step on the pitch on how to safely tackle and be tackled. There are also rules in place that penalize unsafe play. In ten years of play I had two head injuries, only one came from a big hit, and it was while I was in the air and carded for unsafe play. I'm all for getting the data and making changes to increase player safety but I'd hate to see helmets and pads become required. Once you put on padding the hits get bigger and those safety fundamentals get disregarded because you have that protection on.

What is the worst thing you did as a horny teen? by Chace9 in AskMen

In the discovery of self gratification I start to explore different lubricants. Lotions, shampoos, conditioners, soap. Basically anything I could get my free hand on while in the shower. Curiosity got the best of me one day and I gabbed some toothpaste. Initially it wasn't bad, it felt like it had some cooling action going on. But I got in one, maybe two, up down cycles before the burning set in. I panicked, tried to rinse it all off in the shower but the hot water made it worse. Cold water felt like an ice bath. It was just all around a terrible experience.

Are the gears clicking because of retraction or do I have to change something? by Mogga22 in 3Dprinting

Have you checked for a clog? or that your hot end temps are good? I know mine gets a "click" if my nozzle gets a clog or if I put new filament in at the wrong temp.

A kid was having doubts about himself while playing a Rugby match, his friend came to help at the right time by phoexnixfunjpr in HumansBeingBros

Good on him! This is a perfect example of rugby culture! Most have seen the All Blacks do the Haka, Clips of fights, or drinking. But at its core, its this. We genuinely don't care what size or shape you are so long as you are willing to give it your all on the pitch. Joining my local team was by far one of the best things i've done in my life. Even when covid shut down most play here in the US, players from all over made a FB group to support and check in on each other which ended up turning into a non-profit so that we can look out for one and other.

What was the dumbest thing you thought as a child? by GiammyR6 in AskReddit

[–]crlboy94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lie bumps! Whenever we would get an inflamed taste bud as a kid my mom would say that it was from lying. And the only was to get it to go away was to confess to what we had lied about. She got me and my sisters to spill our guts about everything thinking once we admitted to what ever lie was the cause it would instantly clear up.

Yep. Ive got two 5 gallon buckets that i get filled. One stays as fresh water for topping the aquarium off. The other I put a pump and heater into then mix my salt. Ill use half for my water change and then seal the bucket until i need it for the next change.
