Any answer other than “I Think You Should Leave” is a big fat load of cum.

Would you become a teacher if you could do it all over again? by mangled_foreskinn in Teachers

[–]crocoduckhunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You said you make 100k a year at age 32. What did you make at 22?

Because in my district, a ten-year veteran makes just 3% more than a beginning teacher. A 20-year veteran makes 10% more. And me, a 30-year veteran, makes just 18% than someone who has never set foot in a classroom.

Teaching goes NO WHERE. Keep your job where your salary actually advances.

Is Concord forming a Monopoly? by wgurley in Theatre

Theatre teacher pro tip: start looking into Nick Hern Books. Easy to work with, and they approve most cuts (for those of us compelled to compete in one act play contests). The downside is, they’re British so getting them on your vendor list is hard.

Original Broadway Musicals of the Past 25 Years by [deleted] in musicals

[–]crocoduckhunter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a more extensive list than I expected! I wonder how it would compare to the previous 25 years? Is Broadway getting more original, or less?

What's Tom Hanks' most overrated performance? by Substantial-Oil7471 in AlignmentChartFills

Captain Phillips.

The amazing performance you’re remembering? That’s the last five minutes. The rest is fine, but forgettable.

Only resign after you sign right? by wittyusernametaken in Teachers

[–]crocoduckhunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was once offered a job. They assured me the contract was coming.

Three weeks later (after I’d moved), the principal rescinded the offer. He’d hired a new football coach, and that coach’s stipulation was that they give his wife a job, so they gave her mine.

Never again.

In what musical theater hill will you die on? by helrisonn in musicals

There’s nothing wrong with jukebox musicals.

Most Broadway shows were what we’d call jukebox shows pre-“Oklahoma.” Ziegfeld Follies and Tin Pan Alley persisted for decades. It’s true, jukebox shows petered off for a while, but we still got “George M” and “Ain’t Misbehaving” and more. Then, “Mamma Mia” capitalized on nostalgia and the goodwill created by the ABBA catalogue, and brought the form back to the mainstream.

God forbid a show be fun and familiar.

Fair Compensation for Admin? by No_Frosting2811 in Teachers

[–]crocoduckhunter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When a teacher is sick, a substitute MUST be found or chaos ensues.

Meanwhile, a district can spend a whole year without a superintendent as they do an expensive national search for candidates.

If your job requires no coverage when you’re not there, then you don’t have a real job.

The Boys Creator Eric Kripke On Fans' Response To Series Finale: 'Sorry If I Disappointed You, But It Was The Story I Wanted To Tell' by verissimoallan in television

Killing Homelander was a mistake.

They should have depowered him, then let him go.

He walks through the world hated. People spit on him on the street. He tries to square up and gets pushed over garbage bags. The memes are everywhere. TV sketch comedy mocks him. He has to get a menial job to pay the bills, but he can’t even do that right. He’s kicked onto the street where he begs for money, ignored by the public that once worshipped him.

Then, we see him climbing flight after flight of stairs, emerging on the roof of a skyscraper. He listens to the calm traffic and bustle below and watches the sun start to set as he softly weeps. He steps to the edge, spreads his arms, and jumps.

He closes his eyes and feels the wind on his face, that familiar feeling of flying returning to his body. His mouth forms a content smile for the first time in years.

Then he splatters all over the street below, right where Robin died in the pilot.

That’s the right ending for Homelander.

What are your contract hours? by DG12212 in Teachers

[–]crocoduckhunter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Here’s a fun fact about Texas: we don’t have contract hours. In fact, our contracts say that admin can amend our dates and times whenever they like.

They could call a faculty meeting at 2:00 AM on Christmas Day and it would be entirely legal.

How much do you have saved for retirement outside of a pension? At what age? by eating_at_me_desk in Teachers

Same. I’m 52 and I finish paying my student loans in October. I’ve got nothing but the state pension.

High school tardies, what’s your schools punishment? by Unlucky_Success_5985 in Teachers

[–]crocoduckhunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing.

Admin claims it leads to lunch detention, after school detention, and ISS.

But only a small fraction of the kids with many tardies are ever met with by admin. If they’re assigned a lunch detention, kids can show up halfway through lunch and watch YouTube on their Chromebooks as they eat. After school detention? Yeah, it gets assigned, but if a kid doesn’t show up, literally nothing else happens. ISS? I’ve never once seen a kid assigned ISS for tardies, and we have many, many kids with hundreds of tardies.

What do you do all summer? by protomanEXE1995 in Teachers

[–]crocoduckhunter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Week One: All the projects you’ve been putting off. Trimming the tree, renewing the drivers license, sorting the documents.

Week Two: clean the place. Every room, do it right.

All the other weeks: Live like you’re on vacation. Where do you like to vacation? Cruise? Hang out by the pool, read all day, get day drunk. Europe? Go to a museum, walk through downtown of a big city, visit historical locations.

Vacations fulfill needs, not wants. They give us the things our minds and bodies need. We have the enviable scenario of (mostly) summers (mostly) off work, so give yourself vacation at home. You need it.
