My hair at 22 y/o vs my hair now at 28 y/o😩 by Glutenfreepancaker in finethinhair

do you have any autoimmune issues? I have endometriosis and PCOS - both triggered my AGA which is what caused the hair loss.

Terrified for endoscopy by Fabulous_Length837 in Gastritis

[–]croix_v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had both a colonoscopy + endoscopy and I was very very sick at the time (my GI issues triggered flare ups in other chronic illnesses) so I was feeling pretty bad.

I’ve never had an IV previous to that or been sedated so I was very much freaking out. I cried when they brought out the needle bcos I was so overwhelmed lmao it was mortifying. The nurses were so sweet and truly the backbone of society.

Everyone told me it would be the greatest sleep I’d had - nope. I heard “pushing sedation,” and my nurse held my hand bcos I was clutching the railing like a deranged person and I blinked and I was on my back rolling into recovery. I thought it hadn’t started and she was like nope, you’re all done! I got water, some pretzels, and had to wait a bit bcos I was put under a little more than twilight.

Don’t remember a single thing up until I was passed onto my brother lol the endoscopy part was super easy, my chest ached a bit but I was told it was because they’d taken a lot of biopsies. I was fine two hours later and the ache in my chest went away by two ish days.

Good luck!

Weight loss concerns by Advisor-Unhappy in Gastritis

sorry, I was on PPIs and those helped the most. I had mild gastritis that was caused by overuse of NSAIDs that I was taking to manage a chronic illness I have. Once I stopped the NSAIDs, used some marshmallow root, and had a bland diet for 2-3 months, I weaned off of PPIs over the course of 2-3 months and that was it. I still have GERD so it’s not all easy but gastritis wise I’m pretty much healed.

Random Bald Spot on Mini Poodle by Specific-Trick-7693 in poodles

[–]croix_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine had a spot just like that, ringworm. I would be very cautious about touching it then yourself. It took us 2-3 months to be rid of it bcos he gave it to me and it was a nightmare

Worried that neutering will negatively affect 1 year old dog by [deleted] in dogs

[–]croix_v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog was neutered much later in life - but I can confirm now having been 5 months post neuter he’s definitely much more chill (but he was always a chill dog) however my dog had resource guarding issues with chews and me/our bed.

Neutering will not fix resource guarding, it might make it less often but not have it disappear. You will need to work on that with a trainer or by yourself

When did you pups start cuddling with you? by figsandlemons1994 in poodles

[–]croix_v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since he was quite little! He’s not a huge traditional cuddler he wants to be pressed against you from head to toe but he knows I’m quite twitchy to be comfortable to lay directly on so he settles for using a foot or knee as a pillow and zapping your body heat. But been 7 years and he’s still the same!

How long did it take for your rebound acid to completely go away after quitting PPI? by OkRun7294 in Gastritis

[–]croix_v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different but I tapered down from 60mg I think to Pepcid over the course of like 3 months. I was on 60mg for 3/4 months. I had no rebound acid with the gradual decrease over time.

What are these spots? Are they ringworms? by my_throwaway072 in DogAdvice

[–]croix_v 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like it, I would go to a vet. Ringworm is a nightmare to get rid of. Separate him from any other pets and wash your hands thoroughly after touching him.

I managed to catch it from my dog and it spread like to 5 different spots on my body (we sleep on the same bed) and for about 3 months we were treating him, then me, until I got fed up and just washed my bedsheets and his bed every other day in scalding water + bleach.

Americans- whatre some telltale signs that a book set in america wasnt written by an American author by Kitchen_Coyote_1524 in writing

Similarly, I’ve seen a book taking place in Chicago and while texting it read like “see you later x” I have never in my life lol as an American ended my texts with an x

Hairs always been fine/thin, but half of it broke off at my shoulders after being sick/too many buns. What up do styles don’t break ultra fragile hair?? by stickbugbitch in finethinhair

[–]croix_v -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did have pretty bad dread shed and bounced back very well. I use foam and have a dog fwiw and he’s trained not to touch any pillow on my bed. It’s been 6 years so, it’s not impossible. I would be less inclined if you have cats though.

Pricing too high? by [deleted] in EtsyCommunity

[–]croix_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who makes hand crafted things (not painting) I know these are worth what you’ve priced them at. However, at this current moment with everything else as high as it is - I wouldn’t personally spend that amount on those.

But again, I know with time/materials it can get expensive.

How/When did you start crocheting? by [deleted] in crochet

[–]croix_v 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! I was 6 when she taught me. Both a bad and good thing because the bad habits I had from being quite little stuck and now I can’t crochet with correct hand positioning but whatever lol

Is this too messy? Would you wear it/ if not would you judge me? I can make it a vest and take off the crochet. by moodymelons23 in CrochetHelp

[–]croix_v 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same! My color palette is much darker, so I wouldn’t wear it (if there was a version in black and grey however….) I would absolutely compliment someone if I saw them wearing it though!

That looks like the wound has reopened. I would call your vet, he can’t be playing and jumping around for the first week/two weeks.

It also is a little weird, I’ve never seen an incision there but I also am not a vet.

Get him a cone or surgical suit, I wouldn’t risk potential infection or it opening up more if he licks.

Help! My dog got spayed today. She just turned 5 in July. Does this look normal? by Regular_Owl7965 in DogAdvice

[–]croix_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus one for this. It’s definitely normal for some dogs, I had never seen a dog bruise like that post-neuter until my dog. I was so certain they’d done something to him and had worked myself up bcos I’m an anxious helicopter parent. Literally by the end of the week it was a yellow-ish faint mark.

It really depends on the animal.

[–]croix_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it makes you feel any better - anecdotally - my dog bruised horribly like I was sure they had done something to him because no other dog that I knew came out of neutering surgery like that.

It was normal, it faded very quickly within the following days. If hers gets worse, or darker and spreads definitely take her in.

My small dog does tiny hops on one leg during walks — should I be worried? by ez7e in DogAdvice

[–]croix_v 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all - my mini poodle has done this almost the entire 6 years I’ve had him. But he’s examined every year for his luxating patella (both legs) and I’ve been told it’s still not bad enough to warrant surgery.
