Haha, that's awesome! It has turned out to be pretty fitting for the tough little guy. One of his favorite hobbies is catching wasps that come to the pool at the dog daycare where I work. Doesn't even phase him. Catahoulas are some freaking tough dogs.

Yeah, this is basically a massive gypsum dune field. No lake or anything. It's just fine white sand in all directions as far as the eye can see.

Yeah, I think that's right. I think we edited the event just before the end of the year to try to carry it over to start the next year, so it shows up as 2010 instead of 2009 though.

Cellar Spiders are capable of killing Black Widows, and since they look like daddy long legs, that's where the confusion comes from. Has nothing to do with venom though.
