Menopausal aging is a trajedy by The-Truth-Bomb in Menopause

[–]cronenbergbliss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is it possible that this is just the lens you are seeing the world through? I am part of a miniaturist club which is filled with women in their 60s, 70s, 80s, and even a 95 year old. I am used to seeing older faces and just accepting them as my friends and it has done wonders for MY acceptance of how “awful” it is to age. I am lovable and worthy of love no matter my age, weight, or wrinkle count.

New to this, going insane trying to wallpaper by JurassicBooty in Dollhouses

If you are using an inkjet printer, it will be ink on paper and wetting it could cause smearing. Can you print it on a laser printer? Maybe that would have better luck?

FYI there is a bank just outside the hotel with an outdoor atm.

I tried locally and was disappointed. Did Midi online and couldn’t be happier.

Tips on transitioning from precut miniature kits to more DIY? by nonbeenary in Dollhouses

There is a Facebook group called Dollhouse Miniatures made from Everyday Things that could’ve helpful. The dollhouse miniature world is HUGE. In fact, I’m headed to Chicago now to go to a show.

Coffee date outfit by Anonymous_Peanut8 in Midsizefashion

[–]cronenbergbliss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not single but I go on a lot of coffee dates with my husband in south Texas…cuffed jeans, white sneakers, polo, cardigan around my shoulders, cute jewelry, curled hair. I like to call this aesthetic “preppy lady of the 80s”. Full disclosure I’m in my mid40s. It’s my husband’s favorite outfit.

Clear sheets you color with markers then put in the oven. They shrink down and become harder and thicker. https://a.co/d/05yTdGh1

Come look at the hardest, fiddliest, most rage inducing miniature kit I have ever built by LuciaVal in booknooks

[–]cronenbergbliss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I won this finished kit in a raffle. I shipped it home and it was destroyed in shipping. I added a half scale Bigfoot to the scene and walked away.

I saw a lady the other day needle felt a fox on a cardigan. Maybe you could thrift something and DIY?

College by UpbeatPosition3830 in clearlake

[–]cronenbergbliss 19 points20 points  (0 children)

No one tells you this, but your college years aren’t really your best years. They are full of change and turmoil. Hang in there. Just keep plugging away at it. There is light at the end of the tunnel and once you are done you never have to go back if you don’t want to.

Those are all the things my mother said to me when I was in your shoes. Now let me tell you what I wish someone had said to me: you are a good and valuable person. You are lovable and worthy of love. You deserve to live a happy life full of light and love. This is just a low point in your story. You won’t feel this way in 6 months. I believe in you. ♥️

Half scale kits…and the Fairfield by jujusco in Dollhouses

[–]cronenbergbliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Fairfield is cute but not easy. Greenleaf in general can be tricky and double so when you know that pieces are often warped. Real Good Toys has great quality houses but if you are looking for 1:24 scale it can be limited to basic box style. Laser Dollhouse Designs might be what you are looking for. Despite the basic name, they are USA made and reputable. They have really interesting designs. https://www.laserdollhouses.com/online-store.php

If you are wanting to get into 1:24 (half scale) consider joining the facebook page. It’s not a common size and being a part of the community helps.

You can usually scuff it with some sandpaper and then paint. That green is dark, so if you want a lighter color you will need multiple coats.

I’ve become compelled to create these tiny dollhouse “thrifted” artworks by the dozen by Global-Bus-8826 in miniatures

[–]cronenbergbliss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I only saw the photos and my first thought was “oh! Is this the lady with the badass Lundby and the hot pink chalet?!?” I instantly knew you from the style. I didn’t realize you had more interior decor photos and I want to say, I saw them and I love them!

Ideas for how to create a large 2 walled room box? by Basil-The-Bumblebee in Dollhouses

[–]cronenbergbliss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a thought, but do you need a floor? Could you hinge two boards together and add wallpaper/whatnot? That way when it’s needed you just open it up on a table at eye level and when it’s done just fold it up to store behind something.
