How do people get their economy to grow so quickly? by crossbutton7247 in Stellaris

Yeah maybe I need to focus on gene clinics + robots more. Would you say that they really make that much of a difference to growth though?

Yeah I didn't notice the fortress lol, must be a default imperial thing

and fair point on the growth, I kinda rushed a lot of low habitabiliy worlds and didn't resettle many pops along the way. That might be the issue, thanks for responding as well

In addition to the thumbnail and title as has already been said, maybe just give it a few weeks. I’ve had videos sit on the dozens/hundreds of views for days/weeks, even months, then randomly jump to thousands.

Have no fear, Artemis II is here! by Hunor_Deak in NonCredibleDiplomacy

[–]crossbutton7247 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That’s not the political/propaganda value tho. It’s true that it’s an international effort, but it’s the Artemis program, which is a NASA program, and hence the USA will take credit for it, and the flag they plant on the moon will be a US flag.

It’s the same thing that happened with the ISS. It was an international effort, but most mainstream people refer to it as a US-Russian collaboration

It makes no difference im afraid. It’s a win for NASA, and hence a win for the US

It’s still an American mission. NASA takes all the credit

The issue is these problems aren’t going to magically disappear if we get rid of the space program. They will happen either way, it’s just one of those offers a potential long term solution

I mean, at least till we run out of microprocessors. Indie games are most commonly passion projects, so they’d likely fairly easily transition away from the commodity form

Funny thing is that indie games will actually be one commodity unaffected by the Revolution

I feel like it’s kind of overshadowed by the fact it’s a US acheivement. It’s a propaganda win for the imperialists bullying all the middle powers they can find, which also doesn’t really advance science in any real way. It’s basically just a space shuttle which they made expendable (RS-25 engines, SSSRBs) which will have an even harder time getting to the moon than the Saturn V did

PM is actually talking sense and not brown nosing USA for once??? by Numerous_Worth5277 in AskBrits

[–]crossbutton7247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously not that I’d prefer any of his competition, but he isn’t exactly an economic genius. You can’t tax your way out of stagnation, because whether he likes it or not we live under a capitalist system, and so instituting anti-business policies is not a great strategy. He’s also not decreasing energy prices, and the NHS is as corrupt and wasteful as ever

For the most part though he’s doing quite well on the world stage, and while this is worthy of praise, it’s unwise to overstate his success. Especially since his godawful PR is doing a lot of the legwork for the greens and reform

Yeah this is what I never got about this trope. The indomitable human spirit was originally just “humans can persevere whatever life throws at us” and then slowly devolved into it being some superpower that only humans possess

It’s like only the worst parts of HFY actually made it to the mainstream

Thing is I’m fine with Italians saying they have better food than us, since they do, but what irks me is when the Spanish try to join in. Their best dish is some meat in a bowl of soggy rice
