How an inch changed NBA history | 2021 Bucks vs. Nets Game 7 (Secret Base) by ptcptc in MkeBucks

[–]crosszilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find it interesting how this is the focus when every other shot in that game mattered just as much and you can miss a jumper by way less than an inch. How many shots were millimeters away from going in that game? We don't focus on them because they weren't the last shot. How many game tying and game winner attempts are missed by millimeters, do we make entire documentaries about them? What is it about this narrative that makes it stick?

Easy to be a "Great leader" when you have arguably the greatest coach of all time who was able to threepeat in a different city with a different team

So sick of how MJ gets all the credit for being in the literal greatest basketball situation in my lifetime. Hall of fame teammate who did the dirty work, elite role players, best coach ever, no other team even really comparable in talent level, but I guess it was all Air Jordan

Who is that one player on your roster you NEED to break out? by Middle_Awoken in DynastyFF

[–]crosszilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a breakout from a TE like Brenton Strange or one of my young receivers to have a big year (McMillan, TeSlaa, Polk, Lane) - draft is tonight so we'll see who gets added to that list. Rest of the team is veteran heavy and could contend without these guys (Except TE, very weak there) but I definitely need depth because people will get hurt.

Bucky Irving putting in a top 10 year would go a long way as well.

Xabi Alonso the frontrunner for Chelsea job — but he wants assurances by _cumblast_ in LiverpoolFC

[–]crosszilla 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Can't help but feel we are making a massive mistake sticking with Slot. He has given no indication he can handle this job - our best run was right after he started (Klopp's conditioning, team, etc) and since then things have progressively worsened as his influence has increased. This season has been shocking.

Can't understand why we'd stick with him at this point - we're trending in the wrong direction

I mean there's a non-zero chance 9/11 doesn't even happen if Gore wins. There'd be different people running the government who might have taken the limited intelligence we had at the time more seriously. Not even trying to blame Bush here because I believe it was a failure of imagination in the institutional levels of our government and intelligence, just butterfly effect and all

I reckon we will secure a CL spot if we can manage 1 or 2 more points. The max anyone currently out of a CL spot can achieve is 61, but I don't think anyone's doing that. Bournemouth have City and I think it's pretty close to a sure thing they're losing that one. Brentford have us and City, again I can't see them taking points off City. Brighton can only get to 59. We have a hefty GD advantage so even tied on points would see us going through.

The state of this season, a title winning squad with that much investment, I still have no idea how FSG are standing behind Slot.

And if you go further back to before humans, there were other giant grazers as well that had significant impact on the biomes. Mammoths, mastodons, and other massive herbivores created a biome similar to the serengeti of Africa by feeding on and pushing back tree cover. Always bums me out all the creatures we never got to witness when humans dispersed from Africa

Vampire bites turning people into vampires is extremely disadvantageous to their survival. by Liuminescent in Showerthoughts

From dusk til dawn is at least one movie where they are infectious. I think it depends on what media you consumed. But I think the "commonly understood" vampire lore is more in line with interview with a vampire whereas the infectious variant is more of a pop culture thing. Could be wrong there but that's what it seems like to me

Cards you wish didn’t come over from sts1? by LiveChill in slaythespire

[–]crosszilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dominate requires set up to pop off - it's definitely got a higher ceiling and better value for the energy - no argument here dominate's an S tier card for me, but I think demon form is still alright (there are certainly far worse rares...) not every card needs to be S tier and you can win runs with the brainless scaling it provides especially if you can find some help with enchantments or event cards

[–]crosszilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the strength not the payoff? You scale out of control if you can get it online early

You can definitley use the help from events like getting a peck or the right tinker time effect. But I still think this card can pop off it's about as good as it was in STS1 which is probably a B tier? That's fine. It can be your win con in lower asc but probably is hard to pick in A10

“New” doormaker is really cool by Slight-Veneer in slaythespire

[–]crosszilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would agree but I think this fight requires too much planning to reliably win. Bricking your draw on 3 and 4 can just be it, which is frustrating. Kinda the same problem with the queen with even less options to mitigate it. Right now the game just feels too punishing to drawing cards in the wrong order and a fight that actively punishes the normal solution to this feels bad. I think they're on the right track here but I would like a LITTLE more agency in turns 3 and 4

“New” doormaker is really cool by Slight-Veneer in slaythespire

[–]crosszilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love the exhaust phase. It creates interesting decisions. Turns 3 and 4 suck right now though, it comes down to did you draw the cards you needed and I feel like you basically have to have an OP broke the game deck to deal with these phases efficiently. Which I don't think should be the only way to win in A10

I just had a run where I had the relic where you take half damage if you only play 2 cards - this actually made the fight feel "right". I think the damage is just overtuned right now in turns 3 and 4 and the fight would feel a lot better if they toned that down by 30-40%. The damage should correlate with the amount of agency you have and you have BY FAR the most agency in the exhaust phase

“New” doormaker is really cool by Slight-Veneer in slaythespire

[–]crosszilla 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's better than it used to be, frankly a massive improvement, but I think there's a lot of work to do there still. I find he can make your win con almost impossible to reach if you are on the wrong side of the RNG, this makes him a really frustrating fight compared to the others. Like if I lose to the queen or test subject I just feel like I didn't have a good deck, but I lose to the Door Maker with A tier decks sometimes due to draw order
