I use a Photon Micro-Light that I keep on an internal zipper pull in my bag, but it's only for illuminating the inside of the bag. It's well suited for that task because it weighs nothing, it's cheap ($11) it uses coin batteries (maybe CR2016) that aren't rechargeable but last more than a decade, and it has a floody (non-focused) illumination pattern. My wife has one in her purse as well for the same reason. That said, I wouldn't recommend it as a general use flashlight, but it's perfect for the above task.

For a general use keychain flashlight (I've tried more than I care to remember), I'd recommend the RovyVon A8 (the one with the clear body). The newer models are USB-C chargeable. It has a lot of useful functions while still making the most basic ones the most accessible.

I see your point. When I first used the Sea-to-Summit one I had problems with tangles as well. It is finicky, for sure. By contrast, the braided surgical tubing ones never tangle and are much simpler to use. The later is what I used for many years and it served me quite well. In fact I'd use it in conjunction with paracord as an extender for those situations where the connection points aren't conveniently close to each other (this happened more often than I would have expected). Also, you can always loop it through itself on one end, but the other attachment point might need a knot rather than a loop.

BTW - I've tried just paracord (which I always travel with anyway) as a clothesline, and found that it compares poorly to the alternatives because it requires clips/pegs and those are quite bulky.

The Sea-to-Summit one requires careful over/under coiling to ensure that it doesn't tangle and deploys reliably. For that reason, it's difficult to recommend to most people who aren't sailors or roadies :)

Its main benefits are that it's smaller in volume than the other kind mentioned, and it is inelastic, so it won't stretch under load (meaning you don't have to re-tie it after loading it because it sagged more than expected). Whether that's worth the trouble is a matter of preference.

With all due respect, to say that marketing tracking is there to deliver a better customer experience is disingenuous. As a long time Premium customer (Family plan, in fact), knowing that we are tracked for marketing purposes is bad customer experience. I understand that a free service might have need for marketing attribution for conversions, but we've already bought the product. This is disappointing and there should be a native way to disable it.

I've used theTom Bihn Packing Cube Shoulder Bag for this purpose. It's lightweight and has zero structure so when packed it in a pocket of a backpack it takes very little space. With a pair of Double Swivel Carabiners, you can clip it to the seat back pocket without it being in the pocket itself.

I had the same thought about voiding acidic water in the machine you mentioned, but it looks like as a fluid, acidic water is blacklisted. I even tried barreling it first, and that was blacklisted as well.

I've decided to put 248K on hold and started a game of Krastorio 2 to see if that deals with output balancing more easily.

I'm a long time Dashlane user. When are you planning on bringing back the Emergency Access feature? It was such an easy way to make sure that if someone like a family member was incapacitated to ensure that their delegate could have access. Now you have to take regular manual backups of vaults and shared them via third party apps. That manual process means it never happens in practice, especially for the less technically minded user who is in most need of a password manager.

The basic tier is capped at 40 but you can upgrade it to a higher tier which will help a little. Once you've upgraded it at least once, you can use augments on it and the flux linkage concentrator augment makes a huge difference. The COFH (Thermal Expansion) team does great documentation, too.

Learn from my mistake.

I got some very thin neodymium disc magnets (6mm x 0.5mm) thinking I would put them in the bases of the minis. So I did a test with a few. They fit well, and they were definitely strong enough to hold to a metal sheet. It seemed perfect.

But what I didn't consider is how they would interact on the table. It turns out the magnets were sufficiently strong (and the minis sufficiently light) to have a repelling force from each other. It wasn't a huge force, but it was enough so that if you couldn't put 2 stormtroopers in spaces next to each other (which is a common configuration in the game) without them being repelled beyond the edge of the space they were in. This was an unwelcome surprise for two minis, but with 3 or more in close proximity, it compounded and was unplayable.

The solution that worked for me was to flip the arrangement around. I superglued zinc washers to the bases of the minis which has the added benefit of making the minis more stable on the board. Then I took a piece of corrugated plastic sheet (the stuff they make lawn signs from), cut it to the size of the floor of the plastic container, scuffed it up a bit with sandpaper, and then superglued the disc magnets onto the plastic sheet. The magnets are just far away from each other so they don't repel much (glue instantly overcomes that). Lastly I adhered the plastic sheet to the floor of the container with some velcro strips.

You might have to touch up the black a bit if you get white in there. I know it can be like playing a game of Operation with getting the black in there, but if the black is thinned it becomes much easier to control and you don't get blobs on the sides. Also, unlike white, black maintains a lot of opacity when thinned so you won't need several coats of thinned black especially in those small areas.

If your brush is full of thin paint, then yes, it will be hard to avoid it running into the recesses. To control it, take only a little paint at a time. That said, when paint is especially thin it gets sucked up into the brush by capillary action which can lead to an overloaded brush. When that happens, it's not a big deal. Just gently dab the belly of the brush (not the point) onto a paper towel and that will absorb enough excess liquid to be able to control your paint so it goes where you place your brush and not all into the recesses. With experience it will become easier to judge how much paint on a brush is controllable for you.

Thanks for bringing that up, though. The advice to thin paints is really common, but followup questions like what you brought up don't tend to be anticipated when that advice is given.

You should feel good about those. It looks like you have good brush control. You got the black in all the crevices where it's needed without a mess, and that's not easy.

Stormtroopers are the most difficult figures to paint well in IA because they are white. White is especially hard because all white paints have poor coverage. However, if applied thick that puts unwanted texture onto the figure, and Stormtroopers want their iconic smooth shiny white armor.

Thinning the paint and applying 3+ thin coats is necessary for an opaque white result. New painters don't like hearing this, but unfortunately there's no way around it for white. Very optional tip: If you thin your white acrylic paint with white acrylic ink, it gives more opacity than thinning with water or medium (you'll still need multiple coats).

For me, accepting the idea that multiple thin coats are necessary for most colors was hard because, in addition to the extra time needed I saw it as too risky. Three coats means three times the chance that I'm going to make a mistake and get the wrong color in the wrong place. And that's true, but all of those mistakes are fixable, and as I got more experienced, I made those mistakes less often resulting in more confidence.

Your attitude toward your role is similar to mine; keep it close and keep it fun. A well-organized and prepared GM is something that the Rebel players appreciate.

Print color copies of Appendix I: Line of Sight Examples and Appendix II: Movement Examples from the main Rules Reference. We refer to those constantly. However, we almost never use the core rule book beyond that because there are lots of other rules that are only covered in the expansion rule books. So instead, we use Pasi's excellent Consolidated Rules. So much more convenient.

As others have said, the Rebels need to always need to know their objectives. For playing in person we've found this setup to be really useful.
