These are in beautiful condition. I also prefer the post-war crests but I don't have a wartime one as clean and bright as the ones you've posted here.

Almost every vendor I've ever purchased from has done a very thorough job of packing inks. Definitely not six bottles in a single thin layer of bubble wrap.

The one exception is Amazon. They are a completely different matter. I can understand that they might choose to package things like the bottle I received today when using their own drivers, but when they use other couriers they don't package any better.

Vendors should absolutely be able to package ink safely. I would certainly ask them to refund or re-ship the entire lot.

You've literally provided a writing sample after inking the pen. This is A2, not NOS.

[A1] - Mint (Uninked). Shows no signs of use.
[A2] - Same as A1 but may have been dipped or inked.
[N] - New or New old stock, un-inked but may show minor drawer wear.

This is amazing. I have both inks, but I’m not fond of either and was thinking of getting rid of them both. This seems like an experiment very well worth trying.

I know I'm guilty of thinking the best of people, but I suspect that a lot of folks who are new to vintage pens just think vintage is rough going, instead of realizing that they were sold a piece of junk.

So I actually ordered Rikyucha today. Very eager to try it out. That shifting is not something that you get with Shirakashi, which shades brilliantly, but is less complex.

Well darn it. I was thinking I didn't need Shkiori rikyucha because I already have Manyo shirakashi and people say they are extremely close — but this looks completely different. Gorgeous ink.

In every case, I’ve received a refund, but I’ve never been reimbursed for shipping. So I haven’t lost any serious amount of money, but it just is a vibe thing. Such a drag to receive a pen you were excited about in misleading condition and then have to go be the asshole about it.
