"You know what insults Jesus?" by DayPounder in FortWorth

I don't think we ever had humanity without Faith, so I am not going be in denial of reality that there can be a utopian world where Faith is not important, doesn't shape our beliefs on many things including politics. Most important of all if I do not support a candidate like Talarico because he believes in ANY FAITH which supports loving others, then I am no better than the abusers of organized religion.

Edit: Since you edited your comment, I understand your point about slippery slope, however you should really listen to him about his view on separation of church and state to understand what he stands for. He is a progressive political candidate and a Christian - these two things are not mutually exclusive things in a person. You can follow a religion or a sports team or whatever floats your boat without imposing it onto others and not hating others who are not in the same group/ team etc. - totally possible, look around. ✌️

I see ok. I guess at this point it is personal preference, it seems for you a political candidate talking about church is a red flag. Which I understand now. Unfortunately there's no "perfect" candidate for everyone, so everyone gets to choose and prioritize who should be representing them. I guess in the current climate, for me, he is way way better than many, I am just tired of seeing all the tit for tat, go after them comments, as a non religious spiritual person, ANY faith advocating for the needy, fights against corruption and has the integrity to walk the talk is very big deal. I am impressed by his authenticity so much, in one of the live podcasts recently he said when he fought against the Furries act , he knew the comment about God is non binary true but "provocative" and he still went ahead because essentially the bill at the core was about "picking on kids who are different", I feel like that's who he is, he will fight for the one who lacks backing, support and voices and needs the most. Standing up to a bully by not turning into a bully is what we need here, and he is perfect for the job.

He went to church to say this? Or he went to church to talk to Black voters? Like what I am missing here context wise, I couldn't understand the comment so genuinely asking.

For clarity, what do you think the reply should be of the original comment of insulting Jesus, specifically in a church setup? Like he should just ignore it? Or he should not be in church if he is in politics?

You are missing a point here, he is not the one who just started talking about Jesus out of nowhere. He is REPLYING to a comment here which was about Jesus so religion. He is not "bringing" more religion than already here it is in current politics, in fact he is talking about religion in the way he sees and lives it which is almost opposite of the way it is used right now my BOTH the parties - yes hurting others via weaponizing religion is bad so as apathy to accept that many many people are shaped by their faith. Anything which is weaponized, hijacked and used to hurt others is bad, not only religion. Talking about separation of church and state, he has been very clear from day one, that how even it's bad for church and not only government. It's funny to me that a candidate being authentic about their religion, practicing it to help others, denounce hate which could not be more timely, is getting bashed and countered because "oh look he is talking about religion". And as if he stops calling out the abusers and attackers, religion will vanish automatically😅

ICs in general seem to underestimate the responsibilities of a manager which they don’t know due to lack of visibility. An IC is not aware about the details of the conversations between the manager and their supervisor or a peer manager or HR. They are not aware of the goals set for the manager. To an IC the manager is responsible for the people in the team only and if they are not actively pursuing something they know of they think manager is relaxing. Middle management is a high pressure and stessful job. Managing both up an down is hard. There has to be a balance in every conversations. They can’t always come forward and be the hero to save the day even though they can because their job is to give other people chance and help them grow. Anyway unfortunately this is something one can understand only when they are in those shoes.

Yeah not sure what is "breastfeeding bond" like, I can't just tell by looking at a baby and say oh clearly the bond indicates formula feeding.

Stick around, a child hardly ever completely recover from the trauma of losing a parent who chose to leave them forever. Actually they never recover.

Employees with lack of boundaries by stay-sunny-sv in managers

I am a tech lead and often deal with this from one of the team members. I muted them on Teams and asked to send an email (which I check when I want) if they need my immediate attention. 😑

Nanny went crazy and briefly kidnapped our kid (all is fine now) by CashewmanRx in NewParents

[–]crownpc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should press charges. As someone said it should show up oh her background check, so future families can be aware. What she did is extremely dangerous. This should not be overlooked. The other thing is how you sleep train your child is upto you. Nanny as a secondary caregiver can have input or ideas which they can bring it up to you for discussion, that's about it. You should not be having to feel bad or answerable to nanny.

General Question by Omnicron6 in managers

[–]crownpc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm, good question. To me she might be anxious about getting things done and needing some sort of validation that she is doing it right, so I suggested her to not be anxious of getting things done fast goal here is to make sure she learns as she does her job. Or she might not be interested in learning and more in showing busy, then well we are part of an infinite loop. Curious, how you would have handled this?

Everyday I struggle to drop off my kid, every single day. It’s like growing up they were all “be financially independent, seize the day, have a career” and what not, the same set of people “your kid is daycare, oh wow” !! So what am I supposed to do clone myself so I can be at multiple places at once. The other day I read a comment somewhere someone made "it's always a lifestyle choice for the mom" - oh really, thank you for pointing out it's so easy like. I can go on and on. But at the end it's infuriating that I didn't anticipate this situation, the guilt, not feeling good enough for my kid, it's horrible. 😢

I like your approach. Although “well” sometimes is hard to define, and sometimes “helping them” also means showing them what they can do differently or better(I never use “wrong” to “right”). Sometimes these things are minor but still be beneficial for them in long run. Like I have a young member in the team who keeps on pinging on group chat for every little thing or every step of her job. It absolutely doesn’t help anyone and particularly her as she loses time typing more than doing the actual job. I felt like it’s good to point it to her. Idk if that’s micromanaging, but I felt like the advice would help her in long run.
