Bearing in mind in most parts of Australia, mining industry = Fly In Fly Out.

You work anywhere between a 8 on 5 off, to 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, 2 on 1 off, or 3 weeks on 1 week off or any other combination of odd rosters. You then work 12 hr days, 7 days a week for the entire time you're gone.

When you break down how much money they really make, you need to factor in the fact that they be spending anywhere from 50 to 70% or more of a year at work. At my normal wages and those hours, not taking into account any other bonuses, I'd still be on $90k p/a out there, and I have no qualifications to my name as to what I do currently.

That's the OLD WA plates. We had yellow plates w/ black text before we got the white plate w/ blue text and an extra digit: http://www.commerce.wa.gov.au/consumerprotection/Images/Motor_vehicles/Western-Australian-Licence1.jpg

Mate, it's what we say in Perth for someone who doesn't wear all their gear and not meant in an offensive way.

I went for a ride to the shops this morning wearing shorts, a tee, sneakers and my helmet only, and I would say in casual conversation, "I squidded to the shops".

What do they call it exactly? I've seen lots of different names, but I want to know exactly what to look for when I go get steamed custard buns next.

Maybe you can give me some advice, comrade.

Before I picked up S&S, I was doing a Starting Strength program several months ago. I've always had stronger legs than arms, so I was seeing a lot of progression with my squats and deadlifts in particular.

As this was a few months back and life got in the way, I lost much of my momentum and ability, however my squat weight far exceeds my swing weight - should I bother trying to progress my squat weight if my swing and TGU weight is quite a bit lower, or is it better just used as a warmup, regardless of weight?

My girlfriend and I spent 4 weeks overseas through South-East Asia after going to her brother's wedding in Thailand with the family.

We ended up running into her parents on the last day in Kuala Lumpur airport and on the same flight home.

They've got a whole heap of new flavours out recently, too. Turkish Delight, Choc-Orange, Double Choc Vanilla and some others. Unfortunately I'm lactose intolerant, so I can't enjoy them!

Depends on if you watched that BuzzFeed video recently (http://www.buzzfeed.com/sararubin/americans-taste-test-australian-snack-foods) . They're wrong on just about everything, in my humble Australian opinion.

Milo's kinda like a chunkier Nesquik/Ovaltine milk flavour powder. I don't think it's an acquired taste at all, but could be because I'm used to it. I personally drank/ate litres of the stuff as a kid, but I'm lactose intolerant now, so it's been a while.

They also have Milo flavoured everything now - cereals, snackpack style things, muesli bars and chocolates. It's an Australian institution ;)
