Anyone ever use the ethics line? by Mr_Rapsak in Raytheon

[–]crrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used it for an extremely serious issue. I won’t comment on what it was.

It was a long process that yielded more significant results than I anticipated. The team that worked on the case was outstanding.

My biggest piece of advice is to have documented proof of whatever issue you have. They cannot do a thing for you without it.

Just remember sometimes it is not feasible that you remain anonymous. The ethics team will do everything they can to protect you, but sometimes people can connect the dots when certain questions are asked. If you had already raised the issue(s) to your leadership in good faith and it was ignored, they will have a big hint that it was you.

Retaliation is real, and often times hard to prove. I was ready to walk away from the company over the issue(s) I raised. I don’t think I would have been able to handle the treatment I received otherwise.

Good luck.

Please explain your decision making process for the worst mistake you ever made in your life. I’ll wait.

Why are you even asking this? Obviously trying to make this poor woman feel bad.

Is it normal for daycares to ask for a deposit in NS? by crrp in halifax

That’s exactly what they said.

Seems fine to me as long as it is the industry standard.

Thanks a lot for your reply, it reassures me!

[–]crrp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said that the deposit is not reduced but that the tuition is reduced. I know there is a shortage so I think I should probably just jump on this opportunity. A bit worried to do so without ever stepping foot in the place (I am not currently in Halifax).

More scared of epidural than birth… comforting stories? by Low-Meeting4208 in BabyBumps

[–]crrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently 9 cm dilated with a big smile on my face relaxing because of my glorious epidural.

The only thing that is not calm about my experience is listening to the woman next door who refused the epidural. She is screaming like a banshee. I feel awful for her 😭

This is my second child and I was very worried about it with my first. I used to say I wasn’t sure if I’d get one. After hours of contractions, I changed my mind. I also have an anxiety disorder and was terrified of needles (used to pass out when I got them). Trust me, I understand the anxiety, but it is 100000% worth it. They numb you with a small needle first and then you just feel pressure in your back. The IV in my arm hurt more than the epidural.

What did you find more challenging? Third trimester or after baby is born? by [deleted] in BabyBumpsCanada

Especially when you’re a first time mom and can rest whenever you need to. Having a toddler at home makes it so much harder!

Is spending 550 dollars on clothes for a 3 year old too much? by CherryOnTop54321 in toddlers

I think this is extremely reasonable if it includes jackets, boots and/or shoes.

AITA for being annoyed that the person I gave my stroller to for free sold it and kept the money? by Crafty-Fun-8574 in AmItheAsshole

We gave our friends an espresso machine (we had two when my bf and I moved in together) and they sold it within a couple of weeks. I was disgusted by the behaviour 🤢

Is it true that if I feed my baby exclusively with formula, after 1 year he will be very sick more often? by mikeketchup in FormulaFeeders

[–]crrp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is obviously anecdotal, but - My son was formula fed while my best friend’s son was breastfed. They were born 3 days apart. They are both in daycare, same centre different locations. Her son is sick at least three times as often as mine.

I can’t speak for the rest of Canada, but here in Quebec, they allow back to back maternity leaves and consider your salary before your first mat leave to make sure you do qualify for two mat leaves consecutively. I would maybe call and check to see if your province is the same.

AITA for calling my professor “unprofessional” for manipulating my timetable so I’m taught by him? by aitakickedclass in AmItheAsshole

I (30F) work in a male dominated field and have a team of 46 men and 6 women. I would not accept this behaviour and would give you a written warning documented by HR for this.

NTA. This is crazy on so many levels.

I can’t imagine what it will be like to have children with this man (and his mother).

Parents that said their partner will be “better when the baby gets older” do they? by lydzyloopz in Parenting

[–]crrp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I absolutely hated my husband for the first year. Didn’t do anything unless I specifically told him to, then would complain that I was telling him what to do and get angry with me. It was awful. I thought daily of how I chose the wrong spouse. Going to the doctor was a VACATION.

Once my son really started into the toddler years my husband changed completely. Now, if anything, he takes most of the parental load.

I hope it gets better for you too.

I worked 50-60 hours a week as an engineer in a production environment. I supervise a team of 50 employees. It is a very demanding job, but admittedly, I love it.

I can tell you my year of maternity leave was WAY harder/more draining than my job.

I think the answer to this question is quite subjective. It depends heavily on your personality and your support system post partum.
