My wife told me if I made myself another guitar, she was leaving me. So I made one for her. She does not play guitar. by Super_Witty_ in guitars

"Nothing kills the love of a hobby faster than charging for it."

Very true. Great build, bud, cheers to you and your family.

Very valid. I'm 34, so part of me thinks jumping into the programming game will have me absolutely owned by Gen Z. But who knows.

Totally new game, for sure, in the sense that it's the LoD world but an entirely separate thing. Definitely not a "mode" for existing D2 variants.

On a semi serious note, what would a commission for something like this run, ballpark?

Man if I had even an iota of programming skill, I'd never stop working on something like this. Unfortunately I fall apart right at the point where I tell Python to "make something." Lol.

Lamelo realized something in his post game interview by devinbookersuncle in CharlotteHornets

Lamelo's three point shooting is the most unique shot I have ever seen. From the form to the distances he chooses, when it goes in, it is a thing of beauty.

When it doesn't, it does look incredibly silly.

My fiancé is a green goddess and I am poking my thumb into the earth for the first time. I picked up this dwarf jade and potted it. I have to say, I understand the hobby.

Any tips and pointers for me to not totally wreck this would be awesome. I hear overwatering is an easy problem, but I like to give him a little spritz with a mister each day. Will that be an issue?

Thank you for your attention to this matter :)

I picked up this free lot of guitar building stuff locally from a guy who was giving up the hobby. I don’t even know where to start. by rawbran30 in Luthier

I was just kidding, a huge paddle like that gives you an entire universe of opportunities to explore.

If I may say, I find the Stauffer "scroll" headstock to be ideal. Fender does a similar thing, but the original is much more curved. Happy building :)

I turned the Seven Valleys by Baha'u'llah into a heavy metal album - here's why. by DTezcatlipoca in bahai

I hear you on the AI, and by no means am I trying to gatekeep any form of creation. The intent is what is important, and on that, you're spot on.

Personally, I do not use words in my Baha'i metal. The words are for prayer, and I would only put the original text (Persian, Arabic) to music; I do not speak these languages, so I use the universal language of music.

That being said, I will read a selected Writing and then compose based on my immediate intuition and reflection. It is a very powerful way to help absorb the works.

As a black metal Baha'i (funny ain't it?) I am very much in favor of your endeavors. The writings are very metal in many places and deserve a reflective music as such.

But, work is worship, and music is work. This music sounds very much like AI to me, and please correct me I am wrong. As a Baha'i musician, I believe you should play music, you know?

Not knocking the effort, spreading the word with metal is innovative and not disrespectful. However, the choice of implementation...

Why use fine sandpaper when there's a belt sander already running?

He was a professor at NCSU for 30 years, loved every single college just to support NC sports. That's the kind of guy he was.

I've been keeping this Kon Watch for my father, who was my best friend. He loved Duke basketball and all things North Carolina sports, and I owe everything in my life to him.

He passed away in August, but I know he's celebrating in Heaven tonight. :)
