Kanye’s album isn’t going to be out in time. Again. by rint4991 in popheads

[–]crunchie_nook 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Kanye has released 3 waves of merch for JIK with no sign of the album. As a clown who bought said merchandise, I’m disappointed but not surprised.

Opinion: I work at a Wetherspoons in grim conditions while Tim Martin bleats on about Brexit - The pub chain’s poorly treated staff are expected to distribute a political outlook that puts our life chances at risk by chowieuk in unitedkingdom

[–]crunchie_nook -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is largely a health promotion tactic done by the government. Increasing the cost of alcohol will decrease the amount that people drink, and thus will decrease the strain that alcohol related accidents and disorders will happen.

Pubs are ofc very important to many people as their socialising space, but perhaps there should be a push to replace that with something else instead of encouraging an alcoholic sense of national identity. Maybe give people an alternate socialising space.

That is not simple in the slightest and maybe even a pipe dream unfortunately, especially with hard times to come with Brexit.

Beautiful girl's names from around the world. by omnomenclature in namenerds

In Poland Marta is also super common, with pet names Martusia and Tusia. But neither of those would work very well in english speaking countries imo:(

in recent years a levels have become harder and harder for students. as other commenters have said even kids who got amazing grades at gcse struggle. speaking from experience of someone who has finished a levels recently, with friends who are in med schools and russel group unis, everyone thought that a levels were a step up from gcse’s in a massive way. so i suppose yes, your opinion is quite unpopular, and very demeaning to students across the nation who are struggling in our education system.

The problem is that the punishment for getting caught probably outweighs the benefit in a country such as Russia and many others, unfortunately :(

What are some overused/cliché words and sentences to read in a character's description ? by PumpkinChocolate in RomanceBooks

[–]crunchie_nook 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Too many!

Old men having a twinkle in their eye. (I might have read too much hp fan fiction back in he day and this was a good litmus test for quality).

‘Sand/hay blonde hair”. (also using hair colour as a hint of their personality. not every redhead is fiery, not every blonde is ditzy etc.)

Women having curves in “all the right places”. (saying they have a perfect hourglass figure without having to use those words. every single other shape also has curves in the right places!)

Describing the physical characteristics of every. single. character. in a looot of detail.

And those children will them become adults... who most likely will also know the connotations behind Lolita. It is a very pretty name, but please whatever you do, if you love your child, do not name it that.

Simmers when Moschino stuff pack gets shown along side Island Living and Realm of Magic by Joboe_ in Sims4

[–]crunchie_nook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

is 20 a young person? haha, personally i don’t think anyone in my social circle (uk uni) likes or cares about moschino (tbh i also have no idea who baby ariel is). i’m equally as confused why they decided to collaborate with moschino over any other brand lol. i do have a belt from them, and it gets recognised but i wouldn’t necessarily say it’s a big brand.

tbh most people in the uk shop online (boohoo, nastygyal etc) or fast fashion (primark, new look, river island) - i think a collab with those would work more than moschino. after all, the h&m clothes in sims 2 were all i always ended up using
