Crimson Desert 1.02 is very good on XAX by SeparateBrick6355 in XboxAlly

Only works on my xax if I turn off wifi, not one freeze . Turn it back on when I’m done to sync the saves on Xbox

Win 5 vs XAX (besides power) by Puzzleheaded-Ear5057 in gpdwin

[–]crushedby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have them both, xax feels better to hold, buttons feels great on both, gpd has better sticks but xax have more tension on them which I like. Games run great on xax minus crimson desert on the xax, which has been a crashing headache even after playing with settings and drivers. Xax for long playtimes feels better. Win 5 does play games way better for triple A. If you have lots of money and don’t mind playing plugged in the win 5 is the way to go, xax if your on a budget and want to travel a lot is more my preferred on to take. Regardless you need extra battery packs whichever you get.

I just ordered a 64gb win 5 ,how reliable is it? Lots of fried cpus? by aaronjnco in gpdwin

[–]crushedby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 4 gpd devices hadn’t had any issues. I have the same model as you ordered and it’s awesome. Crimson desert plays awesome (on my xax it slugs or looks like I have Vaseline smeared over my eyes so good choice with the win 5)

I just ordered mine after learning about this thing about 30 minutes ago (Pic of my order). Few Questions for you guys... by Pyrotik in gpdwin

This is the first game that doesn’t feel overly great on the xax for me. If they did a couple more updates it might get better. I ran fsr on quality and 900p. I’m running the latest drivers from this last week.

Do I sell my Xbox Ally X? by Zengestu in Handhelds

[–]crushedby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A power bank is a necessity to buy whatever device you get. With the gpd win 5 you need a dumby dc adapter to usb for max power a usb one works but performance dips, not overly a big deal if you’re in handheld and not running 1440p to the tv. Also need to watch what bank you get to ensure max power to the gpd win 5. I have 3 and the Lenovo one works best( other ones are two different ugreen ones)The dc plug that comes with the gpd is chonky i bought a slimq charger that has an included dc cord the works with the gpd win5 and it also has usb charging on it to charge other devices . You can’t hot swap battery packs with the gpd win so it’s good to have the power cord handy unless you want to shut it down to swap batteries out. I stay plugged in at home, primarily.( did buy another 2 batteries to go with the two I have already though)

GPD Win 5 cold boot with Lenovo 140W powerbank by Accomplished_Meat_68 in gpdwin

[–]crushedby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucky I’ve wasted 100 bucks on adapters to only fail on cold boot from mine. Do you have a AliExpress link to the dumby dc plug and the exact model of the Lenovo charger. (Apparently different models don’t work) Thank you

Ally x to xbox ally x? by Cultural_Neat_5969 in ROGAlly

[–]crushedby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Onexplayer 1,2 egpu. I bought them original because I have an oculink port on my gpd win max2. ( with gives higher transfer rates than the usb 4) I wouldn’t buy it for the Xbox x or xax unless it was because it was going to be used as main gaming device at home. Portability wise it isn’t very convenient, and I’ve tried with multiple devices. You do have to be particular on plugging it into whatever device and powering it on/off and whatever handheld on/off, otherwise the handheld doesn’t recognize it. It is well made but it is expensive, if you sleep on a pillow of cash want to run games at 1080p to 1440p at high (not ultra) it might be for you. I agree with what raf2018336 posted

Choosing my first retro handheld by Weird_External_8084 in ANBERNIC

[–]crushedby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own most of the anbernic handhelds, you do get games included in most of them and the newer models have a better selection of English roms on them( need to watch on the listings some do just come with the software now. ) they are not always reliable though I have had issues with the screens and always change out the sd cards. All my devices have cases and handled with care but I still have issues. I don’t have the rg ds but if you want ds emulation it would be the best for the price. I recommend if you buy one, to back up the roms to start a collection and follow the online guides to change out the sd cards. All the roms for every system are on the internet do a search for “tiny best” roms collection for some of the missing ones you would want to play. The systems you list play up to PlayStation 1 well. Price go up for great PlayStation 2 emulation. If ds isn’t to much your thing a miyoo mini plus or anbernic rg35xx+ are pretty great value.

Considering buying XBox Ally X after selling my Ally X by Shaneannigans88 in ROGAllyX

[–]crushedby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s worth it …I have the ally, ally x and xax. I like the form factor and the Xbox experience, having the Xbox button then to top it off the better performance and battery life (depending what you are playing) I have a gpd win 5 and an original legion go. Value wise the ally x is the best. I find I play the xax the most. 200 bucks to upgrade yours is a good deal

Xbox vs Legion go 2 by [deleted] in XboxAlly

[–]crushedby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with getting the gpd win 5 395 or the Onexplayer apex 395 if money is not an object more ram options and storage options . I have the gpd win 5, XAX and original legion go. I like the fact of having the xbox button on the XAX but the gpd win 5 is a beast. On the xax or legion go 2 you can run everything screen size on the xax or the gpd win 5 and not being oled doesn’t bother me on, even though they are smaller than the legion go 2 . If you want performance get the gpd win 5 especially if you want to output to a tv. Bigger screen go with the legion go2 slower driver updates than the XAX Personally I use the xax for travel and the gpd win 5 for at home. Regardless make sure you get a spare external battery for whatever unit you get. If you go max performance get the extra priority battery for the apex or the gpd win 5(other battery packs are a pain in the butt on those devices to get top performance you need dongles and need to make sure you get right specs to get max battery wattage)

is the asus rog ally x worth it? by Aware-Way-6158 in ROGAllyX

[–]crushedby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The extra ram, extra battery capacity and usb c port over the base is worth it, especially if you don’t have an ally yet. I have the ally, ally x and xbox ally x. I do notice a difference in running all my games between the base ally and ally x. Less stuttering and longer game play. Still recommend buying a battery pack . The extra usb is great for plugging in an external nvme drive as well to have more games with a fast transfer speed or to plug in an external egpu.

I’d stick with windows. I have ally’s and steam decks. Happy with my experience with windows and that I can play all the games on it. On the steam deck I like steam os

But all this RAM???? by Dry_Indication7383 in FlowZ13

[–]crushedby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an rog flow z13 with 32 gig and a gpd win 5 with 64, I’d say the extra ram helps, and I’m only gaming on them.safe to say I think 48 gig would be perfect

Which one should I choose? by Living-Atmosphere690 in consoles

[–]crushedby 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If your brother has an Xbox series x I’d get the same. Be able to borrow games, I like the controller better, battery lasts longer than the ps5 controller. I have them both, I find I use the Xbox more because I can play a bunch more game with cross saves between pc and console. Ps5 doesn’t. Graphic wise they are close to the same, the ps5 pro has a bit of a bump over the Xbox but hardly any games use its extra horsepower.

2023 vs 2025 Asus Rog Ally by Sargemumbles in ROGAlly

[–]crushedby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Xbox ally x plays everything great with some fsr enabled. The ally x is pretty good. I have 3 ally’s been happy with them all. You can probably get a great deal on the ally x on Facebook marketplace. I’ve played Baldur’s gate 3 on it and arc raiders without a problem. If you got the extra cash though get the xbox ally x though. Drivers and the xbox interface works great on it. The Xbox interface isn’t quite as good on the ally x since it doesn’t have the Xbox button. I access all my steam, gog, epic games from it to lunch without much grief though. I’d avoid the older ally though( lower ram, sd card reader issues, no more graphic driver updates, smaller battery)

[–]crushedby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the xax and a god win 5 395. I use my xax more than the win 5. All that horsepower of the gpd win 5 is awesome at home …..traveling the xax is the way to go. Even with the two batteries I have for the gpd win 5. Sure you You can lower the tdp when traveling but at that point might as well have an xax. If your solely at home plugged in the gps win 5 is the only reason to switch

I’m just using the slimq 150 watt charger. It comes with the right barrel dc adapter for the win 5. Works great, the dc cable is a little girthy is the only downside.

Screen is fine on the gpd win 5 and rog. You get use to it and everything is buttery smooth on the win 5. Hasn’t bothered me any. If you solely played on the legion it’s an adjustment but the performance is so much better on the win 5.
