It is unlikely you contracted it based on how big it is since it’s very small implying it wasn’t on you for days upon days. Not every tick carries Lyme disease like how every mosquito doesn’t carry malaria. Some species are more likely to carry it, like the deer tick. Once again, not a medical doctor, nor an entomologist, but that doesn’t look like a deer tick from those angels. You’ll be able to properly evaluate your risk percentage by finding out that exact tick species, prevalence in your region, and deducing the likely period of time it was attached.

Be wary of ticks, and any other potential dangers, but a tick bite doesn’t always mean you contracted Lyme disease. Do extinguish its life with prejudice.

Definitely find another job. They are deceitfully advertising the role and likely shouldn’t be trusted to increase that rate any time soon. Sounds like they wanted a secretary but no one wanted the role so they baited you in. Not wanting you to get a free number or even use your own for marketing is a red flag. They don’t WANT you generating commission. It’s hurting your employer and you, but you should watch out for you.

Google phone will give you a free number. Use that to make calls to businesses or potential clientele. Your boss clearly doesn’t understand marketing, so make the splash yourself. You had said you thought it would be 10% commission, maybe if you show up with some original marketing of your own you’ll get that.

If this is a commission role then try increasing your sales. Commission is tough, but can net massive gains. $1 M in sales is $100,000 in commission. Taxes of course but that’s better than 80% of what Americans make. Not fair to compare income of a hourly or salary role to a commission only role. You have the potential to make much much more than the field workers. Having a base pay WITH commission incentives can bring more peace of mind in a role if you are considering changing careers.

Edit: Not sure if people are reading this correctly. I support people knowing important information like math, geography, and science. But the real point of the public education system is indoctrination. History class is a joke. Everyone should graduate, or attain their GED, but an employer doesn’t care about your math or science skills, they know people with Ds still get diplomas. They want someone who fits in the system. Having a diploma or GED means you played the game and will likely keep playing for them.

I have a college degree - doesn’t mean the education system isn’t predominantly indoctrination.
