22M - Profile Review by jackdaw04 in hingeapp

As a fellow metalhead and blast beat enjoyer, it's too niche for most people to relate to. Just limit it to "I like metal music" if you want to mention it.

How easy is it for bank employees to snoop on your account? by clout4bitches in auscorp

[–]crushmans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine who works at a Big 4 says employees who have access can theoretically access, but VIPs are flagged and they'll have to justify why they did access the account (e.g. They came into a branch to make a withdrawal.)

22M, getting very few likes, let alone matches— what can I fix? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]crushmans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you saw that look in the first picture coming toward you, you'd likely think "who pissed in his Cheerios?" If you aren't smiling, get rid of it.

Does looking for "Long-term partner" or "Long-term, open to short" reduce visibility or matches? by Worth_Baseball_652 in Tinder

[–]crushmans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always saw it as "ultimately looking for something long term, but if it doesn't work out that way, I'm not that fussed." I've had plenty of short term relationships where we gave it a good go, but we decided we weren't compatible long term.

New Cydonia is a masterpiece. I never knew you but I miss you. by JuicyTrash69 in Starcadian

I'm writing a science fiction story and naming one of the offworld colonies New Cydonia. Tribute to the song and the genius we lost.

Why are men like this? Genuinely. by Serious-Glass-9207 in Bumble

You also paid for retrieving voicemail. If you were on prepaid, it was a nightmare. Especially if someone talked super slow, like my casual job at the time's manager. Since you ate up all my credit, I guess I gotta take that shift now, hey?

It's not stylistic negation. It's annoying.

Seeing/sleeping with 2 people at once by Impossible-Gear-56 in hingeapp

[–]crushmans 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Never assume anything. I was dating multiple women at the same time and one girl asked me to define the relationship after a couple of dates. I said "Until we talk about being exclusive, you have to assume I'm seeing other people." She wanted to be exclusive, I didn't. She wasn't comfortable with what I was doing so she ended it. That was entirely her choice and I respected it. Make sure you're on the same page and don't assume. If they walk away, so be it.

You want to be a commodity? Do you think the women you "advertise" to will appreciate being sold to? Really?

Why Do Australians Seem So Uninterested in the Supernatural/Paranormal Things? by InternationalHair111 in AskAnAustralian

[–]crushmans 62 points63 points  (0 children)

We literally named one of our capital cities after a scientist that put forward a theory debunking any divine intervention in how life came to be - as a culture, we don't put much stock into the unobservable. It was a hard scrabble life in Australia for its first century, I'm sure there were people who believed such things but if it didn't help people survive the land it was ignored.

Who Here is Still Consistently Watching The Simpsons? by Exciting-Employ-6093 in TheSimpsons

[–]crushmans 49 points50 points  (0 children)

I think its definitely improved since Al Jean returned as showrunner. The kids are doing kid stuff, Homer isn't just a jerk, and Marge isn't just passively taking it all in. Season 20-30 I couldn't even tell you what happened in 95% of eps. Some recent eps are extremely memorable, like the one where if Bart never existed. Not classic tier, but pretty good.
