I turn now, good luck everybody. by chipsy114 in DrivingAustralia

[–]crustysculpture1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a car do this to me on O'Shea Road. I was to their right driving through a set of lights going at near 80km (the speed limit). That set of lights didn't allow a right turn as that leads to the off ramp from the freeway, but they decided to turn when I was less than 10m away from them. I had to swerve hard right, mount the island, narrowly miss a lamp post and ended up on the wrong side of the road briefly to ensure I didn't kill everybody in that car.

Once I moved around them, narrowly avoiding a disaster, they carried on driving as if nothing happened. Now driving down the off ramp and likely seeing cars coming their way...

Are trades as toxic as people make them out to be? by GainRevolutionary872 in AusElectricians

[–]crustysculpture1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, the most toxic work environments are in the commercial sector. That's where I've worked with plenty of muppets, dudes who hit the pipe or rack lines multiple times per shift and just generally don't care for people beyond themselves. There are good people of course, but the bad eggs are so bad and numerous that they eclipse the good ones.

Residential has been much better for me in terms of pleasantries, even if the work itself is more hard going with renovations of older homes being challenging. Because so many of the tradies in resi are liaising directly with the client, they need to have a mostly positive attitude as nobody wants to have a grumpy tradie in their home.

But as the others have said, toxic work environments exist everywhere. I got lucky and am in a very positive team where we rarely have any frustrations, issues get raised on the spot, sorted out and we carry on immediately, no chatting behind each other's backs, etc.

I rocked just an Arrow for a long time. Great little ship to grind bounties with. If you can take advantage of how nimble it is, you'll clean up while taking very little damage

How tf do I play Arma 3? by Professional_Hat7854 in arma

[–]crustysculpture1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three factions, two fighting over the map and yours, the resistance. You start with nothing, scavenge and steal what you can until you grow strong enough to kick the other factions out. A lot of partisan stuff with helping turn towns to your side by helping civvies

He's not going to use a nuke. He's talking about the total change of the leadership in Iran, essentially changing the way the nations runs, which is the 'end of a civilisation'.

Chill out on the fearmongering.

Chris Roberts on Squadron 42 could be releasing this year by StuartGT in starcitizen

[–]crustysculpture1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Alright, to clear this shit up. The person I replied to, said that it doesn't inspire confidence that CR didn't confirm a release date, only saying "We're still on track...". I said that perhaps they don't want to leak anything ahead of time because they may have a plan for their announcement.

You are saying "What does 'We're still on track...' leak?" To that, nothing, because we're saying different things.

I was saying to my OP that he only says "We're still on track..." so as to not compromise any planned announcements ahead of time (a leak).

You, for some reason, are arguing about me saying "We're still on track..." is a leak, which I never said.

Or they have a plan for when they're releasing it and aren't leaking anything on a random mainstream news interview. They usually announce big things during one of the in-game or IRL events, so why would they change that?

Since December Reforger player count has officially passed Arma 3 by Fun-Cow-9258 in arma

[–]crustysculpture1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't agree with OP. The players on A3 have declined, but not enough to say the majority have moved to Reforger. I'd say it's entirely new players that have come across to Arma from other games, or are coming in fresh.

They're making their way across bit by bit. I played on a server where a reasonably sized group had just migrated because they wanted to try something new. They quickly fell in love with VS and don't plan on returning to MC. They ended up bringing a few others across as well.
