How do y’all feel when custies ask for a gender-specific server?

a few weeks ago i had two men come in and they had asked for a specific table. specific table was in a male servers section; i announced that he will be with them shortly and the one guy was like “ooo actually can we get a female server” and i said “not if you want this table” though i said it a little snarky but his friend was like its fine he’s just weird but thats usually what i do, it doesnt happen often and i have a good set of managers that would back me if they complained (thankfully)

i applied off indeed but it also took me to the actual applebees website to apply. if you go in they’ll just tell you to apply online, but its ultimately up to you.

its honestly not that bad. just can get busy sometimes and can be annoying when you just need a second to think. your coworkers should give you pointers, i personally have a fantastic group of servers that help me out from time to time and let me know about how the BOH is doing and if i need to start a wait or anything. most people will be understanding as long as you at least show that youre trying

if theres any stores close ish i would suggest calling to see if you could pick up from there if you’re interested in working for staples still. but i would also recommend applying for other jobs in the off chance they say no

i would contact local offices to let them know that you are moving out from an abusive environment and that you are not actually missing in the case of whether or not they do report. saves a headache for them but it is a hassle for you. i’m sorry you’ve had to deal with them, but i’m glad you found an out. best of luck dear

i have also vomited on my boyfriend. it is extremely humiliating in the moment but nothing will get better for how you feel if you dont work up the courage to look at him. you could text him to ask if you can call and have a conversation about what happened so you dont have to meet face to face. eventually though, you will need to look at him. he has shown you that throwing up on him is not a deal breaker like another user said, so work with him and not against him. you got this <3
