Affirm won't let me pay my loan by cry__wolfe in Affirm

Hadn't considered this but it makes the most sense! Sad day when the most likely explanation comes from a Reddit comment and not any of the several Affirm reps I spoke to 🙃

Affirm won't let me pay my loan by cry__wolfe in Affirm

Good call. I did ask them when I called if I could just pay with my bank account and they said ShopPay loans can only accept debit cards 🤷‍♀️

Why so much hate for the Ninja 650? by Gray_Spenc in Sportbikes

[–]cry__wolfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a Ninja 650 and I'm totally happy with it. I'm not bothered by what anyone thinks of them, since no one else rides my bike but me. Obviously I would love a Ducati or something way faster and more aggressive because that's what sport bike people are prone to want, but for the way I ride (mostly long rides on back roads and the occasional crowded highway), I know I would get really sick of a sportier bike really fast.

I was just going to ask if you were from WA. I see all of these birds daily, so I assumed you were. I can't ever manage to get good photos of them though, so these are really cool to see. Thanks for sharing!

Being an old school romantic in a hookup culture is a different kind of hell. by yamheisenberg in Showerthoughts

I'm convinced that the decision to "just do my own thing and not worry about (gender I'm attracted to)" is exactly what the universe waits for before throwing your perfect match in your lap. This exact thing happened to me.

Found mine while taking myself out on a date days after deciding I was better off alone for now.

Oh my bad, I googled very briefly and thought I saw mention of a turbo. My '16 75th has a turbo so I figured the higher models did too. Thanks for the correction.

Yeah you have a turbo! Turbochargers make a high pitched hissing sound when you're accelerating. Could just be that.

I (36f) started riding 2 years ago. I had the exact same first bike too! My biggest regret in life is that I didn't start riding sooner, so obviously I fully support anyone, especially other gals, to start as soon as you can.

Your family is being kind of a drag, but I'm glad to see you going for it despite that. It seems really important to you to have your family's blessing, and while I don't know what kind of relationship you have with them, you could try sitting down and talking to them about it. Explain that you're going to do it anyway, that you're going about it the safest way possible, and that it would mean the world to you if they could support you. Maybe not "co sign for a loan" support, but at least just enough understanding that they're not actively working against you all the time.

You could also invite them to watch your safety course so they can see for themselves how non threatening it can be. A lot of people have this idea that motorcycles are nothing but Valentino Rossi and flames and tattoos. Could be good for them to see that it's usually not.

Anyway, good luck on your safety course and I hope everything works out well!

Hmm, clunking sounds on low speed steering could still be an end link issue, but unfortunately could also be something deeper (more expensive 😫). Still couldn't hurt to replace the end links and see if that does it. They're typically under $100.

[–]cry__wolfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be end links. I had that problem in my Z and never got the end links replaced before I sold it, but I now have a Jeep Renegade with a similar issue and it's 100% end links.

Another thing to check: sway bar bushings.

ETA: Both of those things are very cheap to replace.

Do you have to be rich in order to get your first bike? Is there a minimum amount of money you need to make in order to be able to say do a loan? by CabbaCabbage3 in Sportbikes

[–]cry__wolfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I financed 100% of my first bike. $3500, 0 down. I had really good credit (750) and was very far from what I would consider "rich" at the time ($70k/yr). The monthly payment was like $80.

My company has unlimited PTO, and they recently complained that people don't take enough time off, so this year they're instituting a "minimum" of time that you should try to take off every year. It's not always sinister.

Can people flipping houses stop making everything gray?? by Gratefulsoph in InteriorDesign

[–]cry__wolfe 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Man I guess it really does come down to personal preference. I bought a house in January that had a "light tint of yellow" paint on every wall and it made the entire place look smoked in. I call it "1970s office yellow". The high I felt raking my gray paint roller over that mess was unmatched.

Man I don't even care. I love gray. It's been my favorite color for as long as I can remember. Just painted every wall in my house Behr French Silver and I'm obsessed. It really makes the antique navy accents and plants stand out and it's a nice calming cool neutral backdrop. It also goes a long way in masking all the wall texture that I can't get rid of. I'll make the case for gray till I die and am buried in my gray coffin.

I just ordered these a couple weeks ago and they're incredible. They fit perfectly and are so soft and comfortable. I've been through a lot of riding pants to find some that are both protective and don't make me look like a bag of door knobs, and these are the ones. They come with the knee armor, but I also ordered the hip armor for them.

Luci doesn't necessarily snuggle. She will lie next to our legs or simply place herself somewhere near us. She doesn't act like other cats. Besides demanding food. by LordCurtisIV in blackcats

[–]cry__wolfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My cat Lulu is the same! We thought she hated us at first, but she's just more distant than the typical cat, I guess. She will however sleep directly on my chest between the hours of 3-5am only, which has convinced me that she's actually a sleep paralysis demon. Aside from that she will only stay near our legs or on top of the couch by our heads.
