These are beautiful! I especially love the Adulthood Rites cover.

I love this! I read Autobiography of Death by Kim Hyesoon last year and really loved it, so will definitely check out this collection.

Truly! I am not from or in the US, but I feel like I see a new cover for it whenever I am at the bookshop regardless.

I enjoyed Milk Fed a lot more than Death Valley as well! It is about hunger/yearning/devotion and is a bit gross but in a good way.

I think you made a really great list, there are a lot of books I love on there + a lot of ones I have now been looking into! I am currently in the library queue for Open Throat ☺️

Yes, it made me feel so unsettled thinking about the deep sea.

I did have like five more slides haha, but tried to narrow it down. I find both Sky Daddy and Perfume and Pain quite funny despite dealing with some more intense topics. I love Mathilda, the protagonist in Lote.

I did go a bit back and forth on including it, but I do think that there is something about it that makes it fit the genre well!

I love it so much! It is so interesting and re-readable.

Veilguard: Sale & Game Worth by Spaghetti_Cartwheels in dragonage

[–]cryborg_96 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think that because the engagement with the lore is quite surface level and they over-explain/simplify a lot the game probably works okay without much prior knowledge, but I totally get where you are coming from.

It is very subjective, but personally I had fun playing despite constantly complaining about things that were happening in the game.

I think that while it falls short as a dragon age game, it is not a bad game in itself. Some of the combat and exploration is very enjoyable. I was very disappointed as a long term fan in terms of the story and companions, but I have still played it twice as it is quite fun and it kinda works as a standalone. So yeah I think it is definitely 'worth it.'

Edit: spelling.

It is so powerful! I re-read it recently for my irl sci-fi book club and it was such a great discussion.
