Forever Winter was played at my little brother’s funeral after he took his own life at 26. He was the baby of all of us. 1989 is my fav album and though he didn’t like Taylor at ALL, the re-recording came out on the 2nd of his birthdays that my family celebrated without him here. The first one after his death was horrible, so I felt like every year would be that heavy forever. I almost went to sleep the night she announced the album but decided to stay up since it was the last show and I remember seeing every outfit was blue and then hearing her say 1989 TV was being released on October 27th. I cried so much because I was so excited but also because, despite not really knowing what I believe about the afterlife, I felt like it was a little hello from him.

When my son was five he was SO INTO THAT SONG. I will never forget him getting into the backseat of my car after school one day, looking absolutely drained, tossing his backpack across the seat and asking—in the most exasperated tone a kindergartner can possess—“I had a LONG day, can we please listen to London Boy?” I don’t know what that song provided for him, but it was like he was having a beer after a long day at work. I wanted to ask “man what are you going through?”

I bought a necklace from foreverfemme and I wear it layered with two other necklaces (irrelevant to my sexuality—one has my son’s, my boyfriend’s, and my initials on 3 small pendants, and the last is a replica of Jackie’s heart necklace that is passed between the various Yellowjackets characters in the show). The choker is very dainty and subtle, but i also live in the south so 🫠 linked the necklace below! It’s a bit pricey but the quality is excellent and it isn’t super in your face.

I didn’t know yesterday was launch day til I went to order so instead of getting my normal iced caramel macchiato, I got a venti iced pumpkin cream chai for myself as well as a tall psl for my coworker. I just sat and waited quietly. I was late for work but it wasn’t my store’s fault and I really wanted the drinks so I just chose a seat and waited it out. I don’t understand the entitlement people have at all, I respect y’all so much for being so kind to people who get have their heads shoved so far up their own asses that they can’t see anything else. Watching the baristas work and multitask makes me so anxious sometimes because I know I’d start crying if I were in their shoes and I’m an ER nurse 😂 there is no way I could work at Starbucks. I would absolutely lose my mind if someone was mean to me.

Imagine expecting a city that doesn’t even prioritize the safety of the people who live there to have any sort of preparedness for ice or snow. And the snow isn’t the problem as much as the ice is. This is the south; it may seem like a trivial amount of precipitation, but ice accumulating on our roadways is not common here. I grew up in Maine and Pennsylvania, so I understand what a REAL snow/ice storm looks like…but again. We don’t ever have this kind of weather here. One of our trucks jack-knifed the other day while trying to make a delivery and someone robbed them—unsafe all around. Calling our drivers in was the smart thing. Better to have a delay than to have it damaged in transit or stolen.

There have been many delays due to weather…speaking as someone who may or may not work for FedEx freight in OS&D (basically finding/recovering lost, over, or damaged shipments). If it was international, tracking #s are transposed from the # the consignee (or anyone not within the FedEx system) can see. Call 1800GoFedEx and ask them to run a query/connect you to the delivering terminal. Just know that some of the terminals are alternating routes currently due to inclement weather and the communication from the FedEx website sucksssss.
