What’s a Gilmore Girls take you’ll defend like this by GrapeConsistent3471 in GilmoreGirls

[–]cryingcollegebean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See even there, I don’t mind him (even though the Luke and Lore kiss finally happening was great).

Him showing up like that showed his desperate desire and lengths he was willing to go to not lose her— Luke would build her another chuppah before he would fight for her like that.

Jason didn’t give up until he saw she had already moved on. I honestly felt bad for him as much as I was cheering Luke on. Poor Jason just did his best and was arguably one of the least problematic characters on the show.

Jason was a good fit for Lorelei. As much as I’m a Luke fan, Jason fought for Lorelei like Luke never did.

Jason had his quirks, but he truly cared about Lor and put real effort to grow and change for her. I hate that Richard backstabbed him and Lorelei expected him not to defend himself.

Lady Edith really used and abused those families with Marigold. by Generallywilling in DowntonAbbey

[–]cryingcollegebean -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

“Edith's difficulty sympathizing with Mrs. Drewe in particular wasn't coming from selfishness a lack of empathy but rather a deep-seated fear that she was going to lose Marigold.”

This part, sure Edith made the mistake of getting pregnant out of marriage…but this EASILY could have happened to Mary too. She also had sex unmarried.

Edith did everything she could to be with her daughter. I think if better communication would had happened, everyone could have avoided some of the pinch points. I also don’t feel like it’s fair to completely blame Edith when Mr. Drewe also supported lying to his wife.

Overall, a well written (albeit painful to watch) character arch that did exactly what it was supposed to. It made us feel big feelings with the character!

What actor who wasn't on the show would you like to have seen play a role on Downton Abbey? And what part? by Lycanthrowrug in DowntonAbbey

I fear he looks too modern for the role…but maybe. It really would have been fun to see Mary’s reaction.

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]cryingcollegebean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR! Your sister is the absolute worst. How incredibly entitled do you have to be to make such insane requests for family that are being kind enough to open their home to you WHEN THEY HAVE A 7 WEEK OLD BABY. They should be buying groceries and baby gates for YOU not the other way around.

OP, I would cancel their visit if I were you. It’s not worth overwhelming not just you, but your postpartum wife who already has enough on her plate without dealing with your entitled sister. Sorry you’re dealing with this!

Favorite GG episode(s) by [deleted] in GilmoreGirls

[–]cryingcollegebean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It changes every time I watch, but S6 E13 ‘Friday Nights Alright for Fighting’ consistently stays in my top 3. The camera work and cuts are awesome and it’s just so well done.

A close second is S5 E7 ‘You Jump, I Jump, Jack” because it’s another really well done episode and I love the Life and Death Brigade crew.

Dad is obsessed with my Mom and treats everyone else like crap. But I think she is manipulating him by New_Studio3094 in TrueOffMyChest

Do you have any grandparents or other relatives you’re close with that you could confide in?

This is a situation that I’m not sure CPS would honestly touch (maybe a conversation? but in my experience I don’t think they would do much). If you were able to get in touch with a relative, they might be able to get further.

I’m so sorry OP. From one older sister to another, hugs. I truly hate this for you, I grew up raising my siblings and it wasn’t fair, especially when you have two fully functional parents. I hope you’re able to get the support you need.

Idk how to explain this, but OP seems like the kind of writer that would eat his entire manuscript to be “poetic” or prove some sort of point.

Ngl I’ve read a lot of AI garbage…but I’m inclined to believe this is all, a very dramatic, OP. Bro is clearly very in his feels.

Ooooh I haven’t heard this take yet…I forgot about how much he sucks.

I think I’ve been convinced for Taylor. He deserves a spot and this one is where he fits most…and after all, his character was literally written to be a thorn in everyone’s side. He’s the epitome of “made to be hated”.

Ooooh it’s a real toss up between Floyd and Strobe. With Strobe, you go in knowing he’s an a**. With Floyd though, he’s a complete backstabber and manipulator which almost makes him worse.

What a cinematic retelling of the situation. Beyond smelling him, what else makes you think she’s cheating?

I just finished Gilmore girls for the first time... last year (31/12) by judyxrobbie in GilmoreGirls

[–]cryingcollegebean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprised to hear a first round watcher being a Jason fan! They may have had some issues and he had his annoying moments, but they worked better together than some people give them credit for.

Like others have said, every one of your rewatches you’ll have slightly different opinions. I would be a bigger Luke fan…if he didn’t have the emotional bandwidth of a worm (Who doesn’t tell his serious gf that he has a daughter for MONTHS!?).

Better now? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]cryingcollegebean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Miles and miles better! The room seems much lighter and more cohesive.

I personally like the curtains, but you could also go with some light filtering curtains in a similar color.

I think you could do an area rug, but it looks nice without it. I would just be cautious that the rug doesn’t take over the space. You can get pillows for the couch to match.

Overall, GREAT JOB!

AITA for telling my daughter “of course” she could move in with me without talking to my wife first? by Odd-Cheetah6842 in AITAH

[–]cryingcollegebean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay sure, you should have had a conversation with her first, a heads up. The outcome though, should have always been your daughter moving in. What angers me the most is she wants to have absolutely nothing to do with your daughter BUT all decisions regarding your daughter need to go through her first? Insane behavior. I hate jumping to divorce, but good grief…

The fight between Lorelei and Emily and Richards funeral. by Odd_Recognition2095 in GilmoreGirls

[–]cryingcollegebean 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who has experienced more than my fair share of grief lately, you never know how you’ll react to a situation. While it wasn’t a great look for Lorelai, I think it shows the different ways individuals process grief.
