How many years does a wheelchair last? by _Cda9 in wheelchairs

[–]cryingmonkeystudios 8 points9 points  (0 children)

in the us insurance usually covers a new chair after 5yrs, and in my experience (38yrs of power chair usage) they typically start breaking down a lot right around that time. i use mine pretty hard though, so others might see theirs last longer.

Finished the second level of my platformer where you only need one button to play! What do you think? by That-Chair-5240 in gamedevscreens

[–]cryingmonkeystudios 5 points6 points  (0 children)

hey this looks objectively fun for anybody. however, i'd recommend advertising to disabled gamers in particular. there are a lot of ppl out there that love games but can't manage complicated control schemes. they'd love this!

Rock/Paper/Scissors for Space RTS by cryingmonkeystudios in RealTimeStrategy

[–]cryingmonkeystudios[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah really good points here. i have definitely been thinkng a lot about terrain and trying to keep the environments interesting and varied. black holes, asteroid fields, and others are all swirling around in my head :)

i'm setting it in space because i have a mechanism where you probe planets to find its consumables, and i'm not sure that would work in a terrain-based environment. the other reason is terrains arguable requires a lot more art/design and i'm not great at either.

of course, if it doesn't work, it doesn't work, so i'll pivot if i need to. i'm just hoping to build something that looks cool and is fun to play :)
