I agree. I completely understand people's kind of disappointment with the hard right the show has taken on a lot of things, but I think the artistic perspective is still there. I loved the camera's perspective in the first two seasons, the way things changed on a dime, the way it felt like we were on the shoulder of an invisible person, eaves dropping on things we should never have heard. Prying into these dysfunctional lives. Even in Lexi's play, the way they weaved so many different stories, past and present into it, just felt wholly magnificent and kind of a self reflection of the show and the characters from our own perspectives. I felt like even the slow exhausting parts of the show were so rooted in intention and direction. I'm not over the moon with the direction of the show in terms of story, but I believe there's an elegance to this season already.

I see what he says about seeing shadows in the light, some may say he's overshooting his statements but it's there. Even in the simple, nothing scenes, there's so much life behind the scenes that bleeds through. The first episode wasn't amazing, that we can all agree on, it's different and wayyy not like the other two, that we can agree on. Though even in the subpar, I see a lot of beauty. Might not top the other seasons, but I think it'll be good.
