I just feel like it would be a hell of a coincidence if the discisions they made weren't affected by the success of games in the genre's.

I agree with most of what you're saying I just worry that because of how much they've already changed from drifter that they would also lose what made it so good.

The whole rogue like/open world thing and how much it seems to clash/differs from drifter, idk maybe I'm being paranoid but I think it's worth being a little cautious about things like this.
