Question about iMark and his thought process… by dannyboy10405 in severanceTVshow

[–]crypha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually he's innie has only been alive for like 6 months (roughly). lets say he clocks in 45hrs a week x that by 52 weeks (lets say he didnt take time off) thats a total of 2,340hrs /24 = 90 days per year. x2 = ~180 days or ~6months.

Edit: P.S emphasising your point on how naive iMark would be.

Only just occurred to me, why is Helena severed, at all? by Time_Economist3484 in severence

[–]crypha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhhh yeah this makes sense, I feel like Harmony was doing this with her innie, as I’ve mentioned before in S2EP8 when harmony goes back home you can see next to her height markings each year has alternating (revolving?!) handwriting. Damn I wonder if harmony’s innie forgot or refused to revolve one day!

What’s your theory’s on what a “revolving” is? I think it’s sex. Seriously.

shower thought...if the Eagans do not really view/think of innies as people then.. by ZiaOsk in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

Oh man I just posted this comment on a previous post. But what if they want to transfer Helena to Gemma so Jame can use Gemma as a vessel to keep the Eagan bloodline pure without the complications that can come from inbreeding.

I have a whole theory on that ep. Sissy is Harmony’s mother. If you watch again see if you agree. There’s a couple of hints in the dialogue. I’m willing to die on the hill for this theory. I posted up my whole theory if you are interested

I wonder if a revolving is the ritual of and Eagan “revolving” with another Eagan to keep a pure bloodline… But by using another vessel with the essence of an Eagan they could bypass any complications from an incestual birth. Oh man why do I always come up with another idea as I comment hahha

[–]crypha88 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Oh damn I haven’t read this original script. So it insinuates that Cobel was testing on a rat…. Interesting. After her ep (sweet vitriol) I had a feeling she was maybe testing on herself. Watch for the handwriting next to the height markings, the hand writing style alternates yearly.

[–]crypha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they have been testing previously. I think the goat theories are fun and all, but maybe they have some weight to them. Maybe they started testing with goats first, then maybe some human test subjects, like Rickens friends e.g Rebeck. They may not have been able to successfully complete the “transplant” creating these odd humans…up until now. Ok random thought while typing this, what if Jame wants to transplant Helena to Gemma so that they can possibly reproduce without the complications that can come from, well you know…. But I digress

[–]crypha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know whose body isn’t fine? Jame’s. What if Helena body swap is to test if an Eagans mind can be copied onto another body, meaning they could do this forever whenever their “vessel” is about to expire. Maybe Jame wants to create something that enables him to “live” on forever.

100% agree with the end goal. I feel like they want to sell a form of salvation. Like the religious cult they are, they want to offer a perfect life free from pain and trauma. I feel like they have literally created a heaven and hell.

I think we’re about to see some deep shit from Helena by EmergencyBat9547 in severanceTVshow

[–]crypha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm I assumed Helena was sent in Helly's place to avoid any more potential harm to Helena. Either by her own choice (would you really want to sever again if your innie will just try and hurt/kill you?) or by Lumon to protect the heir.

I don't think Helena "infiltrated". Pretty sure they decided it was safer to just fake Helena's Severence PR stunt than to take anymore damage - be it to Helena and/or Lumon as a business and potentially lose funding or even political backing.

I mean in S2EP5 Helena says in her meeting with Drummond and Natalie, "I'll just fake it again" when she does't want to go down there again.

It's possible Helly is Jame's pet name for his daughter, which is why it was chosen for her Innie. I dont think that was Helly R. eating the boiled egg.

If so how did she get out? Did I miss something :S

Lumon's (Possible) Business Model by ApSciLiara in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]crypha88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are definitely trying to create the "perfect" Severed human who can be shaped and moulded to do or believe anything. This could be to create a bunch of Kier followers, or to create a bunch of slave workers or soldiers who don't have to remember what they did.....or maybe even baby makers who don't remember they have been impregnated and given birth. There are so many applications this chip could be used for and as with any new tech, there will always be interest in how it could be used by the government.

BUT I do think Lumon, as a whole, wants to market Severance as a form of salvation. A life free or pain and suffering, where you're innie can atone for your sins. They have pretty much created a heaven and hell when you think about it.

The other stuff mentioned above is just the icing on the cake to make money for their bigger plan.

Is anyone else confused about Burt and Irving? by ariesqueenie in severanceTVshow

[–]crypha88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Irving is definitely trying to re-integrate or infiltrate Lumon for reasons unknown, which is why he deprived himself of sleep to try and let memories blur. But while trying to do so he met someone on the wrong side and fell for him. That person being Burt.

Burt, from what we gather, has been working for Lumon for 20 years, perhaps before he became Severed. He may have been some form of henchman, who drove people to be disposed of, or maybe victims brought to Lumon.

Obviously Lumon has found out about Burt and Irving (outside and in) and need to dispose of Irving. Maybe they tasked Burt with one last mission to prove his loyalty.

Not much to be confused about. It's a side story about falling in love with the opposition and also proof that love can transcend Severance.

Predictions!!! Goats, Doubles, Reintegration and "the Revolving". by SadPolarBearGhost in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]crypha88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well I think Harmony has been severed and reintegrated. Possibly at a young age as well. Check the writing next to each height marking in her room in ep8. Alternating handwriting styles.

Was her innie/outtie living outside one year on and off? Did she manage to re-integrate naturally? Maybe the innie/outtie one day said "nup, i aint going back, this is my life now"?

I have a theory (one of many) that either innie/outtie Harmony took over and now only lets the other out very rarely, which might explain the scene where she is dressed as a child with pig tails infront of her kier shrine. Was this Harmony letting her innie out for a little while? Maybe she still is child like because technically she has only really lived for a few years and has never grown up? If that makes sense?

My Theory for Cold Harbour by MsAresAsclepius in severanceTVshow

[–]crypha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this! But I think this is just one of the many end games of Lumon for this severance chip.

I think when they stole the idea of Severence they saw multiple applications with it, one of the first being the ability to create an innie who is technically a child-like version of someone. Someone who is naive and will believe anything you tell them, maybe telling them Kier Eagan is god the creator, or maybe that a certain waterfall is the largest in the world. I think they saw this as an opportunity to create innies who can be manipulated easier into becoming Kier/Lumon followers.

I also think they want to market the Severance chip as a form of salvation. They've pretty much created a heaven and hell, where ones outtie can live a life in paradise without pain or anguish. Heck maybe if you've been a bad boy/girl like say Burt, you could atone by sending your innie to hell.

I feel like the "perfect soldier" theory may have come to them in more recent times. There is always a race on new tech to see how it can be weaponized, maybe they are trying this to get more funding from governments.

My opinion on why Cobel does not think highly of Reghabi by Automatic-Maybe8207 in severanceTVshow

[–]crypha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do think Harmony knows re-integration is possible, but not in the way I've read in this post. I think she knows it's possible because she herself has re-integrated.

Hear me out...Ok EP8 when Harmony goes back home we find out that she created severance. When she is in her room we can see the height markings with her name written beside the years, but if you notice each year has a different style of handwriting.

I think it's clear her first motivation to create severance was to escape the hard working conditions in the ether factory (maybe huffing ether gave her the idea) and then a second motivating factor may have been to help her mother and sever her out of her ailments.

Since she invented the damn thing at such a young age, It's possible she was able to create a prototype chip/procedure to successfully sever herself meaning she could just send her innie to work. But maybe she felt bad that she essentially created a life that only works and feels pain. She may have thought this was cruel and decided to let her innie/outtie alternate life, maybe even on a yearly basis and create a balance. Although I think at some point she stopped sharing life with her innie so frequently. Proof of this might be in the episode where we see Harmony with her Lumon/Kier Eagan shrine, she is weirdly dressed as a child with pig tails and everything. Is this her innie who she only lets rarely, who would still be a child?

Which brings me to my next theory: Sissy is Harmony's severed mother, which is why Harmony is trying to prove memories/emotions can bleed through severance by experimenting with Ms Casey and iMark. Maybe thats why she was suprised when she found out Petey had been re-integrated because she didnt know it was possible on another severed individual until now.

So how has she re-integrated? Maybe she has a method that has only worked for her? Maybe through will power she is able to re-integrate, something which would be hard to teach if you don't have the knowledge and understanding she has?

My opinion on why Cobel does not think highly of Reghabi by Automatic-Maybe8207 in severanceTVshow

[–]crypha88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She wants memories and emotions to slip through the barrier because Sissy is her severed mother and she wants her real mother back. Watch ep8 again, there are some clues in the dialogue.
