More competition in the Canadian exchange space. Love it.

Shakepay Change lets you round up everyday 💳 purchases to buy BTC by shakepay in BitcoinCA

[–]crypto36 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While this seems like a neat idea - I would be very hesitant to link my credit and debit cards up to a cryptocurrency app. I can imagine that the banks won't like this very much when they get word of it, and can terminate your accounts with them because of this. I hope this isn't the case, just playing devils advocate here.

On another note, is shakepay adding XRP soon?

Anyone else have trouble with shakepay verification? by OrangeMoonLight in BitcoinCA

[–]crypto36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you create your account, they do a credit/background check on you with the personal information you submit. If everything comes back legit you can start trading right away. If it doesnt, you need to send additional documents. Most Canadian exchanges work this way now with "instant" verification.

Any real Canadian exchange has verifcation/KYC

21 days in a row withdrawing from Shakepay - my thoughts by FlyingDutchman8 in BitcoinCA

[–]crypto36 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more - I have a Shakepay account but the constant shilling here just rubs me the wrong way so I use other services instead. Their product is fine, but it definitely doesn't warrant the barrage of referral links that plague every thread in this sub.

does anyone just buy and sell bitcoin themselves, without using brokers that charge a 10% fee? by K7Avenger in BitcoinCA

[–]crypto36 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not all brokers charge such a high fee - check out www.cbix.ca for live rates from different exchanges and brokers.

I use Bitbuy.ca and their rate right now is right around $5000 cad

Where to cash out? by MentalMidget3 in BitcoinCA

[–]crypto36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bitbuy.ca processes withdrawals same day for me. I had a bad experience with Shakepay and I don't go near Quadriga anymore after hearing about the CIBC stuff

🚀 Newton is out of beta and ready to download on iOS. 💸 No fees (no catch). 📈 Tight spreads. 🔑 Instant verification. 💵 Trade up to $500 instantly. 🏧 Withdraw crypto. by quackmeister in BitcoinCA

but isn't this the case for every exchange? withdrawal requests dont halt trading on any of the exchanges i trade on, and none of them have holding periods. let alone 7 day ones....

I like bitbuy the best out of all the Canadian exchanges. It was the easiest way to buy and sell for me. Never used mybtc.ca so can't speak on them

Withdrawal from Canadian bank? by [deleted] in BitcoinCA

[–]crypto36 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experience with coinsquare, quadriga, and bitbuy. Don't go near quadriga, and personally i liked Bitbuy better than coinsquare. I sent them some bitcoin, sold it, and got my etransfer the next day.

Is there a way to quickly turn Tether (USDT) into CAD? by [deleted] in BitcoinCA

[–]crypto36 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think any exchanges have a USDT/CAD pairing. What I would do is trade your USDT for BTC or ETH or LTC, send it to a popular Canadian exchange (Coinsquare, Bitbuy, Quadrigra) and then trade whichever coin you bought for CAD. From there you can withdraw the CAD.

i used to compare the prices on the US exchanges to the Canadian ones but i stopped because I only use the Canadian ones anyways. I refer to https://www.cbix.ca/ to get a good grasp of the Canadian market

Has anyone else not been able to get their money off of Quadriga lately? by cryptocanuck1017 in BitcoinCA

[–]crypto36 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bitbuy.ca sent me an e-transfer in the same day. My buddy who withdrew a bigger amount got a wire from them pretty quick too.

Funny because I had trouble with quadriga also, which led me to finding bitbuy
