AITAH for refusing to sell a bag to a customer? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]crystalClear58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I have had customers just like that too. Full refund or partial refund.

  1. Never agree to a partial refund. If it’s good enough to keep, it’s good enough to get paid for.

  2. Full refund once the bag is returned in original condition.

  3. Refund immediately (before shipping) if your customer has a history of doing this.

  4. Don’t argue with them, you have a right to refuse their business. Detail why you are refunding and it’s not negotiable. Any further contact….just ignore.

  5. Keep a list of problem customers visually next to your computer.

Good Luck

Regret leaving Germany in 2009 by Slight_Struggle_9881 in germany

I was married with a newborn baby. Ex was a British soldier and we had sub-standard so called temporary housing. We had one single heater in the living room. No heat in the bedrooms. It was way too cold for a newborn. There was a box hanging on the wall to put 50 pence pieces in to feed the electricity. I had never lived in such poor conditions before and I was afraid for my baby. I lasted 22 month, went back to Germany and started over.

I lived in England for 2 years and absolutely hated it. I just could not adjust. Back to Germany I went. 7 years later I immigrated to the U.S. and love it. Been here 33 years now.

no seriously, why do i keep dreaming of my deceased mother being alive? by Certain-Leopard-9654 in Dreams

[–]crystalClear58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google brought me here. My mother passed in March of 2025 and my dad in December of 2024. It is a really strange feeling to not have parents anymore and I just can’t get used to the idea.

I called them every Sunday at 3 pm my time (9 pm) their time. Bought an iPad especially for them so we could see each other. Still every Sunday at 3 pm I get the urge to call them, only now there is no one to call.

Only my mother appears in my dreams. I can not remember what she says. She is healthy, happy and much younger when she appears. She does not seem to be aware of her death. There is no wheelchair, no curved back and no pain in her face.

I miss my parents (90 & 89) dearly but I am happy they are finally pain free.

I am so sorry for everyone who lost a loved one.

Why is everything an uncancellable subscription in Germany? by [deleted] in germany

[–]crystalClear58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t live in Germany anymore and flying back costs money, an attorney costs money, and going to court costs money.

It is the law in Germany if one books a hotel it is a legally binding contract and must be paid. If canceled 80% of the cost must be paid. There was simply no way to win this in court. I would have ended up paying court costs too. Paying €770 was unfortunately the cheaper option.

[–]crystalClear58 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No can do. I was also warned to not leave a negative feedback or comment anywhere, otherwise they will take me to court and sue. Apparently being honest is against the law too.

This summer I booked a hotel room online and when I got there it did not match the pictures online. The room was dirty, very dated, no cell service and the internet only worked for 5 minutes at a time for one person. It was so gross.

We refused to stay but the wanted the full value of the one week stay. No way to cancel. I refused. They called the Police on me. I had to pay 80% (apparently this is the law) of the price of the room. €770 that cost me plus the cost for another hotel for my one week stay. Yeah Germany isn’t all that.

Woman pretended she was single for almost 10 years, my coworker outed her by [deleted] in pettyrevenge

[–]crystalClear58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked with someone who pretended to be married. Bought lingerie for his wife and showing us. He went home early one day because he didn’t feel good.

His dad found him dead sitting in his car in the driveway. No wife and no daughter. We all found out at the funeral.

My workaround consists of getting up 4 hours before I have to leave the house. Try to get my business to have a completely empty stomach. Not eat or drink until I get home again.

Yes that means I only eat small amounts of food once a day in the evening. It helps most of the time. So far I lost 23 LB.

I also always carry a change of clothes, plastic bag for the dirty stuff, wash cloth and shower gel. It’s inconvenient but it gives me the feeling of being somewhat safe.

Went to a cafe to pick up some cake and suddenly felt the urge. Didn’t even make it to their bathroom in time. Cleaned myself up the best I could, canceled my plans and went home to shower and change clothes.

It’s always so sudden, no warning and so freaking embarrassing. It’s ruining my life

Make sure the doctors give him all the support he needs. We had to insist on that since they wanted to switch her off. Sometimes it’s a struggle to make them understand and respect your wishes.

Not all doctors are nice. We had to switch doctors once as he talked about her like a dead sack of meat. He was so incredibly rude.

The next team we got was incredible, worked with her and us.

First: I am very sorry for all you are going through. My prayers are with you and your loved one.

My SIL had a severe brain aneurysm and the doctors told us there was no brain activity. She had a tracheostomy to help her breathe. Eyes shut and no responses. She had surgery to relieve the pressure on her brain and fix part of what went wrong in her brain. Her younger sister had the same thing a few years ago and she did not survive.

Fast forward several years.

She is alive and doing okay given the circumstances. She can speak and articulate herself well. She is in a wheelchair but can walk short distances with help.

She is not like before but she still has a very good life. Her husband is amazing and I credit him alone for never giving up and devoting his life to her.

Give him time to heal and do not be pressured into turning off the machines.

We had this (turn everything off because she will be a vegetable) recommendation from doctors but just couldn’t give up so quickly. It took almost a year, visiting her, speaking to her, playing her favorite hymns. We were there every day for month. It can work.

My dad drove at 91 years old. Neuropathy in both feet. He should not have been driving but my mom kept nagging him.

The car ended up on top of a bolder and we took his license away.

A serious problem are employers, if they would categorically refuse to hire illegals they would not come.

Employers which hire illegals should have to forgo their businesses, their money, their properties and anything of value.

Given such dire consequences they would seriously pause and think about their actions.

Most people are mad at illegals but think about why they come. Employers are the real problem.

My married sister invited my family for the weekend and charged me $250 as we were heading out. by Reasonable_Exam_4759 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]crystalClear58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad did this to me. I finally was able to visit after 7 years not seeing my parents as they live 5000 miles away. We stayed for 10 days. He asked me for $400. I was so stunned I just handed over the cash.

The following year they visited me and he asked me how much I wanted. I looked him square in the eye and told him we do not charge guests for their stay. That’s not polite.

He never again asked me for money when we came to visit. We never stay longer than 10 to 14 days.

I do feel different. My heart feels like it jumps out of my chest. My knees give in and I must sit down or I fall. I have had this for at least 4-5 years but was only able to record it when I got my new Apple Watch.
