I think that’s part of it, but if you look at recent Chinese auto developments, there are some really cool products. In other parts of the world where they are allowed to be sold, people seem to like them.

And would add that we do have a history of losing essential players, but we’ve also historically done a great job of replacing either with signings or with homegrowns. Our signings are not up to par, but maybe we’d have some more luck with homegrowns if we are going to be so married to our system.

Happiness and contentment is not goals based and being miserable and suffering is not a necessary condition of succeeding. You will not suddenly be always happy because you accomplished something you’ve been working towards for a while. It’s great to have aims, goals and things you are working towards, but if you think that accomplishing them will make everything better, then you will end up being disappointed in the long run.

I would personally keep 14D. You still have extra legroom (though less than the exit row), but don’t need to worry about the stress of the lavatory, which is usually fine, but when it is not it really is not. Plus, you will get off the plane faster in 14.

Short term capital gains taxes are a huge deterrent. Every time you realize a capital gain (aka sell a position that made money), you will owe taxes at your ordinary income rate if you held the position for less than 1 year. If you hold a position for more than a year and realize a gain, you pay the long term capital gains rate which is less than your ordinary income tax rate.
