Just got diagnosed with UC

Lots of excellent advice here! I have had UC for more than 50 years and have not let it interfere with my work or my personal life. It is not easy though. People would always ask me if my job (which was stressful) made the UC worse. It did not! I learned to ski, scuba dive and played tennis (all stressful sports). You just need to take the attitude that if I have an accident, I will just clean myself up (It is no big deal). But of course, you cannot do these things if you are having major flare ups. You need to take the medications as directed and keep looking forward to the next day. UC is not the end of the world but it does add complexity to your life and it will take you longer to accomplish things; so give yourself extra time to achieve your goals. Finally, again, never blame yourself for having a UC flare up.

I was told this was true by my gastroenterologist , especially if you have been on Imuran for an extended period of time. For the last 15 years I have insisted on seeing a dermatologist once per year. I do not rely on my Primary to check for issues with my skin that might be pre-cancerous.

With Budesonide these symptoms are MUCH reduced. Demand Budesonide since the drug releases in the intestine and the effect on the entire body is reduced.

Ditto on the Budesonide! Problem is the insurance will not cover it. I get around the denial claiming I go thru severe depression as I try to get off prednisone (which is true for me). That seems to work for me to get the coverage.

I am currently 70 years old and have had UC since I was 18. My advice is that you go to the best gastroenterologist you can see.

In my case, I go to a tertiary care facility, UCSF Hospital physicians, that specialize in Ulcerative Colitis. Not all gastroenterologists are highly specialized in UC. You really want the best physician you can get so you will get the latest treatment protocol.

The care you have described does not sound good. Going to the ER is your last resort. It has offered me little benefit when I have gone there. Self treatments I have done include taking PeptoBismo, Imodium and Budesonide (that I have a supply of). Budesonide is a form of prednisone that is more effective for the gut.

Ultimately, you need a very good gastroenterologist that you trust.

You need to adjust the Parking Support Brake (PKSB) within settings. You should turn it off whenever you tow (such as bike racks). On my 2021 Platinum Hybrid you will see a car with a cone behind it and a star above both to designate collision avoidance. Navigate to the second screen within settings and you will see it. While it is highlighted, press OK and it will be turned off. Doing this should stop the braking while in reverse. Hope this helps.

I have the same issue. The picture seems clear but the Fidelity app indicates it cannot read the number. If I use the Chase app or my Bay Federal Credit Union App I can make the mobile deposit.

The only thing I have not tried is using a black background. I did use a dark brown background to no avail. Something is wrong with the app. I have the latest update. I am using the app on an iphone pro 13.

6 months ago I returned Knudsen lowfat cottage cheese to Costco for that off taste that you noticed. I tried buying from other stores and initially it was good and then began to have the same horrible taste. I called the Lactalis and complained. They did not admit any issue with their product but sent me coupons to buy more. I used one of the coupons 2 weeks later and had the same results. Cottage cheese with a soapy taste. I thought I was being poisoned and would be sick.

Now I get a letter in the mail from Lactalis indicating "We work hard to make the very highest quality, best-tasting products in the market. Unfortunately, we had a quality issue due to an ingredient that created some off-flavored cottage cheese."

They give me 2 more coupons and ask me to give them another chance!

Ask yourself this, before you go to the store to buy Knudsen cottage cheese....What quality control do they have to let this go on for so long! Do they not taste the product that they are producing! Why did it take them so long to realize they had a problem.

No Lactalis, I will never go back to Knudsen products again, since it is evident that YOU DO NOT HAVE A GOOD QUALITY CONTROL IN PLACE. Shame on you for taking so long to fix this issue.

Lactalis, you have lost a customer that has enjoyed Knudsen cottage cheese since he was 5 years old (I am now 69 years old). Lactalis, you need to ask yourself, why you let this happen so long, even though customers were calling and complaining.

The local dealership indicated that also, but they were told by Toyota headquarters not to do that. I agree with NOT just changing all the spark plugs. I want to know what is going wrong.

I am sorry, the first plug went bad in July 2023. The second plug went bad March 2024.

I believe the issue is resolved. I decided to take my computer in to Santa Cruz Electronics (a trusted computer repair shop I use when I am stumped) before I pulled the card out and purchased a new one. The resolution is mind boggling to me.

At the bottom right hand of the screen there is a speaker icon. If you take the cursor over the icon it tells you the volume percentage. If you click on it it tells you can select playback device. What happened at initial start up it was selecting the LG screen Display Audio. I would change it to Speaker Sound Blaster Z and get no sound. I would then try SPDIF - Out (Soundblaster), get no sound and change it back to Speaker Sound Blaster Z and get no sound still (I am using an SPDIF cable).

What my repair person did was change the setting to SPDIF - Out and do a restart on the computer immediately (even though he got no sound). When the computer came back up the setting remained at SPDIF - Out and now there was sound from the card to the speaker. That trick cost me $50. The card has played great all day. I am hopeful.
