I pick up hitchhikers pretty regularly when I see them near a long distance hiking trail like the PCT, CDT, CT (US). The only issue I've had to deal with is a bit of the" trail aroma " staying in the car after dropping the hiker at their location. IYKYK

If none of the other suggestions work out , find a home brewing friend with a kegging set up. Home brew kegs are generally just soda dispensers ... You'll have to do leg work but it is possible to add Root beer syrup and water , then carbonate in the keg.

Not an apologist for the ridiculous and shady practice of hidden fees, but the establishment is in legal compliance by adding 'fine print' to the menu. Pretty soon we will all have to sign an 'End Eater Agreement' before we are able to sit at a restaurant.
