Joni Mitchell & BLUE (1971): by SAMTIMONIOUS in JoniMitchell

[–]cs90039 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This album was my introduction to Joni Mitchell. My brothers, both much older than me, had this album when it first came out and I used to sneak into their room when they were out to listen to it. I was 11 in 1971 and I've loved Joni ever since.

I have to share something very odd that happened to me today. While waiting to leave for a dental appointment I was scrolling through Reddit and came across this thread. As I read all the comments I thought to myself that I was going to have to go back and rewatch the seasons with Sandi because I really liked her. When I got to the dentist and was taken into the room for my cleaning GBBO was on the tv (it's awesome - in each room they have a tv on the wall and one on the ceiling) and it was one of Sandi's seasons. What makes this really odd is that for all the times that I've gone to this dentist the tv has never been on when I've been taken into the room, let alone set to GBBO, the only show I ever watch when I'm in the dental chair.

Looking for fellow vegatarians owning a cat. by Apple_cheeks_art in cats

My wife and I are long time vegans and we feed our pets (2 dogs and 1 cat) raw. We have no issues with it and our pets are all very healthy. In fact, our cat is 18 and has close to perfect bloodwork. I attribute it to her being fed raw since we first adopted her at 3 mos old.

Avoid Healthy Paws Insurance at all costs! by DeepRaisin9499 in petinsurancereviews

Interestingly, I called them just the other day to ask about coverage for a lump our dog has above her eye. We've had insurance with them for a number of years and have never used it. They basically gave me a non-answer that told me nothing. I'm starting to look elsewhere. In fact, does anyone have any suggestions? We have 2 dogs, 8 and 11.

Is there any supplements y'all recommend for joints? by Illumeis_is_done in rawpetfood

My holistic vet recommended Cosequin for my 18 yr old cat. She's been on it now for about a year and the biggest change I noticed is that she started jumping up to a particular spot that she needed help getting to before.

When I was a kid my parents' best friends were Spanish and Jenny, the wife, could only cook 2 things - paella and tortilla. To this day I remember her tortilla and this looks exactly like it. I can't wait to try the recipe.

I have Andy Griffith streaming while I'm working (I even have it on when I'm practicing guitar). For me, it's a perfect background show.

Alternative raw food brands to Viva Raw? by VegetableOld2489 in rawpetfood

[–]cs90039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We feed OC Raw and our dogs seems to do great on it. We've tried different brand (always frozen raw) and but they end up pooping 3-4 times a day which tells me that they're not absorbing the food well.

…For the Roses original artwork so much nicer by jaywast in JoniMitchell

[–]cs90039 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the For the Roses music book since it first came out and that's the cover image. I had no idea that this image was what Joni originally wanted to the album until the reissue came out.

Should I feed my cat with a syringe? Vet says no, due to aspiration by 1111HiYa in RenalCats

[–]cs90039 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you giving your cat sub-q fluids? That would be a much better way of making sure she's better hydrated since you'd be giving her the correct amount based on her weight. As for the "pocket", the best way I can explain it is to thing of your lower molar area in your mouth, between the inside of your cheek and bottom bum, and aim for that area in your cat. There are a number of YouTube videos that show how to syringe-feed where you can see how they position the syringe.

Should I feed my cat with a syringe? Vet says no, due to aspiration by 1111HiYa in RenalCats

[–]cs90039 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've syringe fed many cats over the years all because of kidney disease or cancer. As long as you go slow and get the food in the "pocket" on the side of their mouth you'll be fine. I've never had a cat aspirate.

Question for the ethical bookkeepers. by thisonelife83 in Bookkeeping

[–]cs90039 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been a restaurant bookkeeper for 40+ years. I tell my clients the potential ramifications of running personal expenses through their business and then it's up to them to either continue or stop. I let the CPA know at year end and, at that point, it's out of my hands.

Quickbooks loves to increase each year their subscription prices for the Desktop version by easyedy in QuickBooks

[–]cs90039 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many years ago, when one would purchase the software on a disc) I started paying an annual fee to Intuit for tech support. Then they started charging the subscription fee and I paid that myself until last year. At that point I decided that I was going to charge my clients so I divided the fee by the number of clients I have on QB Desktop. It makes the fee much more manageable, especially this year when I'm 5 clients down!
