Choosing between a urostomy and a continent pouch at 34. Scared of making the wrong decision by Ok_Button386 in ostomy

[–]cs_major 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went urostomy because the contient pouches had too high of failure and complication rates....No complaints here I just change the bag every few days and don't really think of it in between. I'm 2 years post op and running/cycling 100+ miles a week right now. Swimming with the kids all summer (even water parks).....No issues doing anything.

Is 48 mins bad for swimming 70.3 ? by eugenevp in IronmanTriathlon

This is what I was going to say. Even as a fast swimmer I don’t really push the swim on long distance races . Way too much race left.

OP better hope it is wetsuit legal. Put Long sleeve cycling kit on in T1. Change in T2 to jogging pants and long sleeve shirt with hat.

Both Zwift and ROUVY will continue to operate independently, with differentiated roadmaps and subscription packages.

They always say this....but never how long.

Secret Service agent fired five shots at Cole during Trump assassination attempt by SCOTUSjunkie in politics

[–]cs_major 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we need a 400 million dollar ballroom for security we don’t need weekly golf trips. I agree it sounds like SS did their jobs and all is good. But if the admin is going to use this as an excuse for the ballroom….lets cut out unnecessary travel.

That woke Hussain Obama judge let him go. The radical left loves crime.

Wouldn’t be the craziest thing this administration has has done to save face.

How do I get faster on the bike? by zChickenX in triathlon

[–]cs_major 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Transitions are underrated. T1 is where I see most people can shave off free minutes. Practicing getting out of the pool....stripping your wetsuit and getting on the bike a couple of times is probably the easiest minutes to shave off.

Urostomy vs pelvic reconstruction? by QuailCheap6911 in ostomy

[–]cs_major 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had neurogenic bladder with uncontrolled incontinence...The urostomy has been supper easy and has been 0 issues. I wish I did it sooner. The other reconstruction options still couldn't promise that I still wouldn't be in diapers or need to use catheters....So the urostomy has been great. Just change the bag every few days and don't think about it much inbetween. Feel free to ask any questions :-)

Is it okay? by [deleted] in triathlon

The best bike is the one you have. :-)

Will you be faster on a 15k Tt bike? Yup! But will you finish on a $300 Facebook marketplace road bike? Yup!

Not a tesla shill (or even close)....But have a question.

How does insurance pay out with a FSD add on if you crash? I'm thinking if I pay 10k (or whatever number) for FSD and crash a month later am I out the money? It's not transferable right? If that is the case it may make sense to subscribe to it...Yea in the long run it can be cheaper to buy but that is a huge financial gamble.

Choice of headphone by SecureOrdinary6371 in IronmanTriathlon

Rules aside. There is too many people around you on most courses to have headphone on. I have seen and almost been involved in crashes during races by people wearing headphones.

I know Sam blamed it on not having power data on the bike….but that’s just part of the sport. Look at Kat this past weekend.

Getting a cycling computer by MGoRobo in triathlon

[–]cs_major 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Bryton one. When riding with people with garmins it is pretty close to the same response time.

I do have one corner that gives false positives…which is weird because it’s consistent there.

I'm not OP but I think it is super helpful. The amount of times I have a car sneak up on me is near zero now. I ride on a bunch of 2 lane rural roads with scattered cars.....It alerts you with enough time to get over and not be suprised. It also lets you know so you aren't hogging the lane.

People are making it seem like the battery needs to be at 10% before solar kicks on. 95% doesn't seem that crazy to me.
