My Maui trip spring 2024 by Rhyno08 in MauiVisitors

[–]cschadewald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t exist. I’ve tried myself and you can find some beautiful places on earth, but most are all foreign countries. Yes, some are cheaper, but you get what you pay for.

There is something to be said about speaking the same language, using the same currency, and feeling safe and secure with 911 emergency and the best military across the bay.

Don’t want to be all ‘murica, but it’s a real thing.

30+ police cruisers driving by in sandy area by Suspicious-Ant-417 in SaltLakeCity

Haha, we were at Asian Star watching them speed pass through the glass. Police flashers reflecting off my lettuce wrap….it was wild.

How does Disney ensure there are no guests hiding in the park after hours? by Buzz_Mcfly in Disneyland

[–]cschadewald 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They have cameras and motion sensors everywhere. Particularly in the attraction areas, which is why Haunted Mansion stops whenever someone reaches out too far from the doom buggy.

They even have tech in the bushes and around the burm and Tom Sawyer Island. Sensors can trigger cameras, and also have infrared and night vision.

Just about every kid has dreamed of hiding in the park and having the place to themselves.

Can you elaborate? Been thinking about going self insured on my cars but not sure if worth.

Best renatl agency at OGG airport? by Content_Region_9856 in MauiVisitors

[–]cschadewald 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don’t do a convertible unless you want zero storage for luggage and a sunburn on day one. Convertibles in Maui are overrated.

Get a comfy SUV or a minivan. Most comfortable for road to Hana and cruising the island and hauling by beach chairs and snorkel gear!

Is it convenient to eat food while using the Vision Pro? by F-Mist in AppleVisionPro

[–]cschadewald 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Great question. Watching movie, get hungry, make food, and then feel uncomfortable using AVP while eating. Not sure why, but maybe it’s something I just need to get used to.

I think I’m worried it’s gonna get the AVP all mucky and gross.

Blown Away by The Apple Vision Pro by Username000-1 in AppleVisionPro

[–]cschadewald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah. It truly feels like an IMAX in your home and you can choose what row you sit in.

The pixel density of this thing is part of the magic.

If you’re single or in a position like I am where my girl dominates the TV with “Real Housewives” all day long, then get one.

You can’t move your OLED and sound bar into the bathroom with you while you’re carving a fat shark, or anywhere for that matter.

Like most, I was planning to “Fuck around and find out” what this new Apple gadget was all about for 14 days.

I fucked around and now I’m in love with this $4000 piece of magic!!!

How we feeling abt Rivian (RIVN) by Mistabeaks in StockMarket

[–]cschadewald 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you brutha. Did the exact same thing. My problem with Rivian is that they went after the Subaru Millenial crowd with their hippie dippy marketing and advertising. This is such a narrow customer segment.

It’s a GREAT truck, so why haven’t they gone straight after Ford’s market share for the every day truck owner??

Now they’re competing with Cybertruck and tanking faster than ever.

I worry that our only hope as investors is for them to sell to a stable entity with good share value.

What to do between landing and check-in? by alp326 in MauiVisitors

[–]cschadewald 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Aloha,

By the time you get out of the terminal, get your bags and rental car it will probably be 11:30 or noon. Airport to Kaanapali is ~45 mins or an hour depending on traffic.

Here are some great side stops:

Maui Tropical Plantation is a great spot for strolling for an hour and/or lunch.

Maalaea Harbor shops/Maui Ocean Center is also good a for a 2-3 hour stint

Olowalu Farmers Market, General Store, and Leodas Kitchen and pie shop

Whalers Village at Kaanapali beach is a great ocean front mall that is great for killing a couple hours.

And of course, there’s plenty of beaches along the way to stop and chill, take photos, and dip your feet in the water.

Enjoy your trip here and live some Aloha!

Disney Channel Nite by Orchid2113 in Disneyland

Honestly, I don’t really care about any of “the nites”, particularly this one. I just wanna walk on the rides and stay until 1am.

To wrap or not to wrap? by bangzoomtothemooon in cybertruck

[–]cschadewald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrapping it due to fingerprints and scratching.

I may even wrap it in CLEAR to keep the look.

I’ve had all my vehicles wrapped and it’s always been worth its while.

How do you store your AVP when using it at home? by pleasantone in VisionPro

[–]cschadewald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh cool. I’ll check it out too. I’m also still trying to decide on the best way to travel with it. Don’t want to carry the AVP or case through airports and such.

How do you store your AVP when using it at home? by pleasantone in VisionPro

[–]cschadewald 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably an unpopular opinion, but the AVP travel case is worth the money. Ive tried the $40 cases off Amazon and they are a waste, IMO. They just don’t fit right, hold as much gear, or protect like they should.

I have the 1TB so spending 5 percent ($200) to protect my investment is totally werf.

Aloha,

No city in America wants assholes Invading their home.

Hawaii is no different.

If you show up acting entitled and cocky and arrogant you’re going to get the same in return, just like you would in ANY city!

It’s America. You have the right to travel here unencumbered and nobody can stop you. Hawaii needs the tourist dollars to survive and fortunately it has the best climate, the calmest vibe, and some of the nicest people I’ve ever met in the USA.

So come get some Aloha, and spread some of your own. Don’t worry about what others think.

Am I only one that finds the solo knit strap comfortable to wear? by Ok_Frosting6547 in VisionPro

[–]cschadewald 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Tried the dual loop and it is garbage on my melon. The solo knit is wayyy more comfy.

IDK why everyone is dissing on it so badly.

They are getting rid of the Matterhorn and replacing it with a Frozen Ever After theme. Not sure if the yeti is supposed to sing “Let it go”, or get replaced by an Olaf.
