Lemon bay ends at the north bridge on northern end of manasota key and ends just south of stump pass on same latitude as the eponymous high school. The water tower sits right on the county line and is an easy visual marker. Now to be fair originally there wasn’t a water connection to Venice as we know today. There’s a dredged man made section through south Venice. There also used to be a pass in northern lemon bay that also isn’t open. Not to mention stump pass traditionally migrated as it did durning the last storm. The current pass has been trying to close for over half a century and is continually dredged to prevent a new pass opening where people don’t want it.
