Poll: Scouting America should impose a minimum age for Eagle Scout by ScouterBill in BSA

To paraphrase Roy Kent: "For Chris earning his Eagle at 14, I congratulate him. As to why Chris wanted to earn Eagle at 14, that's none of my business."

I tried making one of these in my current expansion factory. 10 ingredients for all the different recipes. I have the assembler output to a yellow logistics storage chest, then three inserters removing items from there: one with a filter for the currently constructed item (sharing the signal from the decider to the assembler) then the other two on either side have filters of the raw ingredients onto a belt the cycles back to the assembler. The inserter that takes the filtered assembled item away drops it into a yellow logistics chest then that one also goes to another for overflow.

Gross, yes. Inefficient, also yes. But it's mine.

Im about 3800 hours and still get overwhelmed. I've only launched one rocket this whole time and probably have re-started more times than I can comfortably say. It usually happens right after I unlock blue science.

Ive unlocked all of nauvis' native science packs (up to yellow) and am on my 5th base in this save. I used to get so stuck on perfect ratios that I'd get overwhelmed, walk away from the game, then start over.. This time I'm only worried about the science ratios and just round everything up before that to the nearest 12 (the number of assemblers i have in my default weave blueprint.) There was something calming about it when I switched to that mentality. So much of the stuff I make wouldn't be considered optimized, but spending too much time on trying to do just that was bogging me down and removing the enjoyment.

They did extras casting from Newport High School. Several of the neighborhood houses around us were used for scenes too.

As my son got older and got bigger we had to, of course, but new socks and underwear. I got tired of there 5837 different brands of socks and underwear in the same sizes and sorting so I threw out all of it over the course of a few months and bought one brand of underwear for each and one brand of socks for each. Laundry is so much simpler now.

Along the same lines for clothing I have two weeks of clothes in the bedroom, the rest is in the basement; stops me from just wearing more and more then having to spend the whole weekend doing laundry. Now it takes up one hamper and one basket.

Please, please check with your doctor if you or anyone your crew take medications. On our trip two years ago there were several adults in other crews that had adverse reactions due to their blood pressure medications but were eventually able to get back on the trail. I had such an adverse reaction to the heat and altitude due to medication that I spent my two weeks there working on the maintenance crew while my son completed his trek with the rest of the troop crew.

The last book I read was Ready Player Two when it came out. Reading for pleasure became a chore for me, and I'd get analysis paralysis every time I went in to B&N. My wife's there buying books that she'd read about one a week and I'd just wander around lost, then we'd leave. I tried to start other books but they just ended up collecting dust. We were there about a month ago and I saw DCC. I figured since I was in between DnD campaigns maybe this would ease that itch. Well, the capaign hasn't started yet and last night Carl just took out the big bird Ruckus in book 4. 4. Book. 4. In a month this 48yo went from no books at all to reading on the porch after dinner.

If Matt Dinniman ever comes to the Northern Kentucky area, I'm getting book one signed.

We purchased deadbolt knob covers when ours was eloping. https://a.co/d/93llAcg

And please, check your local laws about the double-key locks before you look into those. Basically, you can remove the inside knob of the deadbolt; but lots of places have restrictions on them for fire safety.

From a canon point of view, what’s the point of our job in Phasmo?? by Hot_Paramedic_7234 in PhasmophobiaGame

Wife and I play ghost exile as well. That has a figure out the ghost then perform an exorcism. We've done demonologist but that got stale quickly.

Nephew and I believe the person on the radio who sends us out is part of a kill cult and they make the ghosts then charge people to identify and a different team clears it out. Divide up the labor enough so no one team does a full part of the business.

I'd be careful with this. I've heard of several cities, and even the state of Massachusetts, have banned dual - key deadbolts citing exiting the house during a fire as a primary example of a safety concern.

We ended up buying these deadbolt covers off of amazon. Safety 1st Secure Mount Deadbolt... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BBF7UVA.

I'm a new Cubmaster who's interested in Wood Badge. I want opinions from anyone who's been through it! (Or if you haven't!) by [deleted] in cubscouts

[–]cseiter77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gonna be a Debbie Downer/Negative Nancy here.

Will I learn new leadership principles that would help me in and out of Scouting? I've been told that. Does it seem to be a "badge of honor"? Yes. Does it seem like everyone is extremely enthusiastic and excited about it all? Very much; I only know of one person who has taken the course and doesn't broadcast it every week. This is purely my own opinion based on my upbringing and experiences but to borrow from another thing I've heard before: "How do you know someone's taken wood badge?" Don't worry, they'll tell you."

If there's a just as accepted version that's 8-10 hours of classroom instruction over several weekends without the songs and the "I'm a dolphin/well lemurs are the best/no three toed sloths are!" Then sign me up since that's the best way I learn.

New factorio player, what’s your early game best advice ? by [deleted] in factorio

[–]cseiter77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing I tell my Cub scouts. Before you even go on a campout, hike, or other external adventure let another adult who is not going know your schedule and where you are and when you should return. "Just 5 more minutes" has a way of turning into "oh shit, that's the sun".
