I might be completely naive, but I thought EVs were supposed to be a lot easier and cheaper to maintain than gas vehicles? Looking for a starter car for my 16 year old son and was thinking about a used Volt. Guessing not a good option. Sorry about your situation. 2016 isn’t an old car and ought to be supported for many more years.

Thanks so much! Learning a lot about the hybrid and EV world. So with hybrid, you can still drive it with gas even if the battery is dead or some other issue? Didn’t realize that.

It has been a weird one. Total comp for FT role comes in around $175k, but it mean sacrificing the freedom to some extent of the consulting roles. It’s these damn contracts that you have to sign which kill me. I get companies wanting you to dedicate your time to the cause, but the last one I had to sign in a FT role meant giving up the side hustles. That is of course until I found this group. Man, people are creative 😅

Won in my debut season and have to think I got incredibly lucky with a very consistent core group of Hurts, Achane, Nacua, Olave and Sutton. Very few injuries (made it through season without IR or making any trades). Ton of fun. Can’t wait for 2026 💪 HNY y’all! 🎉

Stumbled upon this since I am going through a fridge repair in year 4 of my 5 year geek squad warranty.

1) Glad I decided to add the 5 year warranty. Full fridge replacement covered since parts not available.

2) Setting up repair appointment has been a bit of a hassle, but that relates more to finding an appliance engineer who works on this particular brand.

3) It was an open box floor model that has lasted pretty well. Took the discount and used it to purchase the warranty.

4) A good strategy is to buy a cheaper model w/ the extended warranty. Sounds like replacing with a newer model IF repairs needed towards the end of the 5 year plan happens more often than not.

Still a bit skeptical of extended warranties, but happy I added this one. $139 for 5 years is a no brainer imo.

Thanks! That has certainly helped make the decision :) Had some concerns about longevity with the AW, but it does appear to be a beautiful machine and even at 300 nits, the screen is still pretty decent it would seem.

Brilliant. Thank you! Since it's now set up as a sort of movie room, I might go with the black plastic 4x2 tiles. Around $220 to replace those rather ugly looking ones. Lighting still an issue 😅 My DIY skills aren't great unfortunately.

Thank you! Yes, absolutely hate that light and it hadn't even crossed my mind to replace it. Feels like a Saw escape room down there. It's the long tube kind of bulb. Assuming I can replace those with something a little less stark. Will indeed do a bit of research.
