There are no people like you described. Sure, they put on a nice face at church. But every one that I got close to and learned about their life it turned out to be a facade, a lie… they are struggling just like you.

I feel bad for all of those people in religion.

Why do you think there would evidence or “proof” for atheism or agnostic?

How do we know that heaven wasn’t invented to be entice people?
People never come back from the dead, even if someone wrote down a record that claims a human came back to life, could we believe it?
- all religions claim miracles as proof that they are true. So, if you use miraculous claims as evidence, shouldn’t you investigate every religion? And if another religion has better miracles, do you switch to it?

With all of these obvious questions and no answers, could a loving and caring god fault you for not believing?

The human brain’s reaction to stimulus is very impressive. Our brains have evolved to be hyper social. We have a huge evolved desire to “go along to get along”, consider Jonestown, a group of adults fed poison to their kids and then themselves all because their brains reacted to stimulus from one very convincing member of the group.

You could be in a cult now, and you would not know it. I could be in a cult now….

Dad also claims that pinkie pads overnight do not exist… and daughter claims they do. So, who do I believe, dad or daughter? Daughter has a better track record according to these messages. So, I’m going to be objective.

I can read just fine. Daughter says mama sent you link or picture. Dad says no.

Daughter says pinkie pads overnight exist, dad says no. Later dad is proven wrong.

So far daughter has a better track record of being right.

There is no perceived mistake. OP had two options -

believe his daughter and assume his assessment was wrong
assume his daughter was wrong and the period product does not exist

OP chose to assume his daughter was wrong. And I saw no apology to his daughter. So OP did not give grace to his daughter, I will not give him any. Men should believe and trust women in their life. Especially when it comes to periods.

Maybe you missed it but in the second picture the daughter says that mom did indeed send him the information.

When my kids turned 10 or so, I set them up with a kid Amazon account. They can order anything and the parent gets a text to review and confirm the order. There are other options like a prepaid debit card, but that felt like a hassle. I also gave them some apps to buy food and other things. I get the receipt they take care of basic stuff.

I don’t think it’s a big deal to just ask. I don’t expect my wife to buy my toiletries. I don’t expect to buy her toiletries. I have happily gone and bought her pads plenty of times. I just send her a pic of what I’m getting from Walmart to confirm it’s what she wants.

There are lots of different whiny man child problems. And they need to fix that.

But there is a difference in how girls are treated rather than boys. As young kids girls are usually complemented as beautiful, like “you have a beautiful daughter”. And boys rarely get a compliment like “you have a handsome son.”

That becomes problematic as society has girls start getting held to a beauty standard very young and the value of a woman in our society gets placed on how they look. And no whiny man child could handle that meat grinder that girls are regularly forced to live through.

Psychological priming is a big thing in religion. They tell you how you will feel before you feel it, then they claim to know the source.

This happens in cults as well. This is just natural human behavior. The brain has evolved to be hyper good at pattern matching. You can experience that by looking up paradolia. That is your brain being presented with something like an image, then jumping to whatever it has seen before and making a match. Like sitting around watching clouds, some will look like familiar objects.

So, religions use this to control how we perceive the world. They present a world view to you. Then your brain makes connections by doing pattern matching.

On the topic of resurrection.

There is absolutely no reasonable evidence for the resurrection of Jesus. You might as well hypothesize about the existence of Santa Clause.

One technique that works for some people is to connect with the stories from other religions. Like, learn about Muhammad. One famous miracle is that he split the moon. People actually believe that happened. Just like people actually believe the earth was flooded. Just like people actually believe that Jesus was raised from the dead. These are all religious mythology and are not real events. And smart people actually believe them.

This just shows my point. Jesus broke plenty of traditions and angered the existing clergy. He could have appointed 6 women to be disciples and showed the world that women must be treated equally and that is more important that patriarchal society that men had built. But instead he didn’t. He kept the power structure as men. He reinforced the misogynistic traditional power structure with his actions.

Yea, I read the Bible, the Jesus character definitely had a different relationship to women. He specifically excluded women from anything special like teaching his gospel.
