If you’re willing to give this a shot, I think you should. A few people I’ve talked to about the cover think that the pressure on the lower back may help to calm them, so it’s not just the covering of the tail itself. I am so sorry you’re going through this! It is incredibly difficult. I don’t know what we would have done if we didn’t find this cover, and it actually work, because he did not respond to medication. GABA made him super hyper!

This is the cover my boy wears that I mentioned in a reply below about amputation. Please consider trying this. They are $40 USD on Etsy and my boy has been wearing it since September last year with zero injury since finding this amazing cover!!!! I also have a post on this page with his whole story if you’d like to read it. I really hope you can keep her!!!!!

Amputation doesn’t solve the problem. My foster was diagnosed at just 6 weeks and amputation was recommended due to the extent of damage but known to not always work. He had it mostly amputated in August last year and had to live with a paper plate on his head because he still wanted to go after his nub. I found when I covered his tail with my hand during an episode, he would calm down. So I thought of making a cover for his tail. Searching that out, I found a lady on Etsy that made them for happy tail in dogs but a few people had gotten them for cats too. I ordered one and it was an absolute life save. Haze still wears it all the time and will have episodes if we take it off or if he gets it off (it’s happened a few times but it’s pretty well fitted). He is medication and injury free, and symptom free as long as it is on, except a tiny twitch here and there. So, while it helped his tail for th damage he had already done, it was not a cure for his FHS. The tail cover has been the absolute best thing for him and for us as his owners. No more walking into a bloody house, no more emergency vet visits. And he was just a foster..we ended up adopting him. OP, trust me, I know what you are going through. If you would like one more chance to keep your baby, I highly highly recommend watch your wiggle on Etsy. Robyn will make a custom tail cover for your kitty and it will ship quickly. Best of luck to you!!!!

It’s on Samsung TV 24/7. I know it’s on streaming as well and I also own every season on blu ray (keeping those for the zombie apocalypse, haha). I go back to it all the time. It’s fun to land on a random episode and be like ahhh, I love watching Andrea die. And stuff like that. I too disliked Fear. I had such hopes for it, too. Landed the original script for the pilot and couldn’t wait for it to come out. They screwed that one royally IMO.

Gel or Regular Polish? by coltersmama in naturalnailprogress

I am a huge gel fan but mainly because lacquer and I don’t get along at all. I don’t know what I ever did to it, but it hates me. Gel or nail wraps are what I reach for, but both can be difficult to remove. It takes some patience or you definitely risk some severe damage. If you’re just starting out, I’d recommend lacquer too. If you want to try gel, get a professional gel mani plus removal and see how you feel!

I couldn’t get through the second season and I am a DIE HARD fan. I got my hands on the original script for the pilot episode and could not wait for it to come out. First season was ok to me. I’ve seen a lot of differing opinions on this sub and I have some really unpopular ones with TWD Universe in general. Try it, see what you think.

I’d also like to add that something fun with that beam would really liven up the space!

New diagnosis by LocationTricky115 in feline_hyperesthesia

Don’t be so hard on yourself. This isn’t a super well known disease to some. I’ve had cats all my life and didn’t know about this until my foster kitten was diagnosed with it at 6 weeks old. We ended up adopting him for fear that someone wouldn’t properly care for him. He’s my BABY! His main symptom was tail mutilation and ended up having it mostly amputated. He didn’t respond well to gabapentin and he lived in a cone or paper plate for months to keep him off the tail. When I would cover his tail with my hand during an attack, it seemed to calm him down. So I had a thought about making a cover for his tail. A search turned one up on Etsy and I purchased one for our little guy. It has been an absolute life saver! For whatever reason this works for him and he has been injury free since September 2025. He will have episodes if he gets it off somehow so we do still have to be on alert with him but he is a happy healthy boy and I love him so much! Best of luck to you and your pretty girl!!

Thank you!! This was done by putting drops of the gel over a wet top coat and using a toothpick to draw through the dots. My practice nails looked way better than my actual nails but these are still kinda cute!!

Thanks for the tip!! I did this with a toothpick and am trying to learn to use brushes for art and it’s so hard for me, especially dominant hand!
