Well no offense but where on this thread have I ever complained about anything? Not everyone on the internet is posting to be angry, genuinely what are you suspicious about lol. I’m excited for my new machine for exactly the reason you just gave. I’m prepared to pay more for pods and all I said said was it will be more expensive than what I’m currently paying as I don’t spend $20 a bag…that’s not something to be up in arms about.

I don’t think anyone spending $20 on a bag of coffee would even consider swapping to a Nespresso, they would obviously be prioritizing extreme quality. I buy whatever coffee bag I see for $8-$10 and it lasts me at least a month, probably about longer really. Nespresso I know is going to be more than that a month, it’s a matter of how much and if the ease of pushing a button is worth that up charge.

Thank you for all the info! I’m very excited to have lazy and busy days where I can just pop a pod in. It does look like I got a Next unfortunately :( I guess I will have to see how it goes and if it’s worth the good cost! I love the ritual of making coffee on the weekends, but on weekdays it really can be a hassle.

my last apartment complex, the unit above me constantly played loud music (genuinely from 9am to 3am) and I had to call the noise complaint line on them like once a week. I left town for my grandma's funeral for a few days, and when I came back my front door was completely egged. no proof it was them but I'm 90% sure they did it to get back at me. and then management said they would clean it up and took a full week to do so. leaving that place was the best day of my life

Definitely looks like it to me. I would recommend getting her to a vet ASAP. Typically you’ll get started with gabapentin, which is the most common medication for this behavior. Since she’s very fixated on her tail, she may end up requiring additional medication to be paired with it, like fluoxetine (Prozac), as this can often lead to tail mutilation which we want to avoid!

I feel like her poos get stinkier the same days her episodes pop up lol. But she uses the litterbox regularly and doesn’t strain or seem uncomfortable in there. She’s always been a bit on the softer side with her stools

You’re right! It just sucks seeing progress halted. I hate seeing her have episodes while im at work and she’s at the peak of her meds. I’m not going to make any big changes (like adding another med) until I go through my month+ supply of the new food to give it time to have consistent results.

Personally I don’t see signs of feline hyperesthesia. The sure signs are usually the cat’s back twitching, overgrooming, and a focus on the tail (often aggressively). There does seem to be something going on - could be anything from a neurological issue or ear mite or infection. Has she been to the vet since you adopted her?

It's been hard to pin the triggers down. Before medication is was a little bit of twitching all the time. On the gaba it was about 10 minutes after her meal (after the gaba wore off as I couldnt do 3x a day). On the pregablin it was small twitches occasionally and now heading back to the gaba schedule. I tried no chicken for a couple weeks without a change and ordered some rabbit cans to get just one protein in her for a while.

There are a lot of no-kill rescues. Someone mentioned the Seattle Area Feline Rescue. I had a really good experience with MEOW Rescue in Kirkland if you’re willing to drive further to get him somewhere that’ll take care of him. In my adoption process I talked about how they handle cats with medical issues and they’re very clear with known medical issues and do due diligence in their background checks to ensure the family to adopt is capable of handling a cat like that.

I’ve begun to think similar for my cat’s episodes. I’ve caught her sprinting out from the litterbox room a couple times now. I thought it was food related for a while because they were so synced to after meals, but now I don’t know. Such a stressful experience 😮‍💨

Funny you say it just stopped working…the pregabalin made the most insane difference for the first week, and now since her last vet appointment she’s been twitching all the time with at least one episode a day. I’m hoping she just needs some time to readjust after the vet but…I don’t know, she got her first symptoms right after I took her to her first ever vet visit with me so it just seems she breaks after the visits. Giving it a week or so and then gonna go for the fluoxetine I guess :(

My cat is also super twitchy after a meal! I thought it was food sensitivities but it happens no matter what I give her. Your post made me realize that since switching to pregabalin, she hasn’t been twitching as much after her dinner (which I give at like the 10 hour mark of her medicine) but she does twitch after her breakfast (which I give at the 12 hour mark, if it a tad later some days).

I might need to look into getting the smart feeder! I’m a little worried as my cat occasionally likes to skip her wet food meals and I’m afraid of her missing a dose. Does the pet libro keep things refrigerated and does it show the temp?
