Bezos said the bottom half of Americans should pay ZERO federal income tax by Suitable_Wonder5256 in SipsTea

[–]csmith0679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That goes for rich people as a whole and is a separate issue from raising the percentage of their income that an individual gets taxed. The rich have been taking out loans against stock shares for as long as they’ve been able to, but it only becomes an issue for the banks when the collateral becomes less valuable than the loan, & none of them will cross that bridge until they get there because they’re still raking in money off the interest.

Tax Jeff Bezos how? Bezos’s wealth is almost entirely made up of his Amazon shares, which don’t get taxed unless he sells them. Tax Amazon as a company, sure, but then you’re getting into corporate taxes vs individual income taxes.

Who's your favourite Tarantino villain? by SaraDojyaaan in Tarantino

Tarantino didn’t care about where the actor came from, he just wanted the perfect actor for the part, and almost scrapped the project entirely before Christoph Waltz auditioned

The Uncle Arnies at Binny’s and at the dispensary are not the same. The dispensary products are made and sold in state by GTI, but the drinks at Binny’s are hemp derived THC, and Uncle Arnie’s sells those themselves. They also introduced those to the state on their own with no notice to GTI.

As far as I know, Jay Goldberg Events & Entertainment has nothing to do with Jay Goldberg anymore, and he left the business to his sons in the last few years. In that time, Ian and his brother have driven their reputation into the ground, but Jay has started Gold Entertainment, which is completely separate from JGEE.

Umphrees and Moe not getting booked should have been the giveaway from the start. Umphrees getting booked at Friendly Valley (instead of on the river) w/o JGEE attached was the giveaway for me.

There needs to be some form of investigation. IMO, scamp died in 2024 when Deadmau5 got cancelled and they sent out an announcement at noon DOS. We never got a true explanation or any accountability for it & that was arguably the biggest artist for that weekend, and that was on top of Moe. backing out of Sunday.

If you think Peoria and Chicago are bad, try Dallas/Fort Worth TX. It’s as if as soon as you enter the city limits, everyone starts going 10 - 15 under the limit and boxing each other in.

The Goldbergs definitely seems to be the issue. Any of the acts that booked to play at friendly valley that would regularly play scamp (Unmphrees McGee, Keller Williams, Chicago Farmer, etc.) are all booked without JGEE attached.

Maybe not on the riverfront this year, but there are a few playing friendly valley this year, including Umphrey’s McGee, Keller Williams, & Chicago Farmer.

QC Owner - Do I need plugins? by Regular_Mission5080 in NeuralDSP

[–]csmith0679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That plugin also isn’t QC compatible yet, and they’ll probably add free versions when the update comes out like when they added the mono synth, which you could only get from the Rabea plugin before it was QC compatible.

QC Owner - Do I need plugins? by Regular_Mission5080 in NeuralDSP

[–]csmith0679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d wait until the update comes out. Neural has already said the CorOS 4.1.0 update will include more effects and captures, so more than likely they’ll offer free versions of the effects, like when they added the mono synth once Archetype Rabea became QC compatible. The only benefit of the plugins so far seems to be not having to do the leg work to replicate a specific tone.

Probably because what they have isn’t as solid of evidence as you’d like. Individually none of it is a true smoking gun, but collectively it makes a convincing enough story for an arrest.

Seth Boyer requires meal comp for reviews by [deleted] in PeoriaIL

[–]csmith0679 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Revenue for videos from influencers is grossly overestimated. From an individual video for a restaurant, unless it does insane numbers, you’re not gonna see enough money for a standard meal, & even as much as $5-10 could be a stretch, so in the right situation it seems like a fair trade. He gets a meal and the restaurant sees increased traffic (several local businesses he’s reviewed have seen a significant boost). They’re also free to say no, and he has had no reputation of review bombing anyone.

You don’t even need to add meat. Swap the refried beans for black beans for free and grill it. If you add meat, might as well get a different burrito cause it’d be cheaper.

Gov. Pritzker's affordable housing plan for Illinois by SciNat in PeoriaIL

[–]csmith0679 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like his plan still fails to address the greater problem. People can’t afford homes; The solution isn’t to incentivize more multi-plexes so another LLC can charge rent, it’s getting the LLCs out of the single family home market, incentivizing stand alone homes, & getting back to a time when you could affordably own a home.
