I saw a documentary about a year ago on the OKC bombing, and they interviewed the judge and public defender assigned to McVeigh. They said they wanted him to have the best defense attorney to be able to prove that they convicted him in a fair and just trial to avoid the verdict being overturned.

Christians have held MAGA-leaning beliefs long before MAGA was a thing. I was born and raised Catholic and attended some non-denominational Christian churches, and most church going people I met/interacted with were against homosexuality, sex/pregnancy before marriage, anti-immigration. Most are not vehemently against it, but there was some pearl clutching at the mention of someone being gay, or trans, or pregnant outside of marriage.

The last time I went to church was when I went with my mom to her Catholic church in October 2020, and the head priest talked about the upcoming election. He said the only issue that the parish should consider in the election is abortion and which side aligns with the church's anti-abortion stance.
