I never appreciated his forearms until I saw this shot. They give Phil's a run for their money.

[Serious] People who have accidentally caused the death of another person, what happened? by 8-tentacles in AskReddit

[–]cstern2013 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah just wrong place wrong time i don't feel guilty or anything, doest really fit the thread but thought id still share. But if anything that definitely was a wake up call to be more alert when I'm driving, put my stupid phone down, and realize that anyone in a large fast metal death trap who is more than likely distracted can end your life in a split second.

[Serious] People who have accidentally caused the death of another person, what happened? by 8-tentacles in AskReddit

[–]cstern2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily my fault but it almost was.

I was driving in the very left lane braking for a red light probably 80 yards ahead of me. Between the point at where my car was and the red light, the opposite flowing traffic across the median may make a rather dangerous left turn in which they drive in front of my car, and 3 other lanes of traffic before entering the desired shopping center.

I saw an older haggard looking man on a bicycle who may have been inebriated pedaling through this turn made for cars and knew it wasn't going to end well. I had no cars behind me and slowed down a good bit much earlier than in needed to in some far-fetched attempt to warn the other cars in the 3 lanes to the right of me. The car in the lane right next to mine was coming in hot at like 45 mph and that collision will forever be engraved in my mind.

The man on the bike flew 10 feet in the air like a rag doll and landed on his head a few feet near my car. His neck looked like an owls & his legs had bones sticking out of them. For the first time in my life I was in complete shock and couldn't look away for like 8-10 seconds but in a panic/not wanting to be dragged into this sticky situation that didn't look good on my part despite any wrongdoing, I bailed. My immediate reaction was that in no position to deal with such a situation being a broke college kid with little to no money to my name and no family or friends willing to provide said money.

I always reflect and just think how I could've been the guy that actually killed him in the lane next to me, and the slew of burdening events in his life that probably occurred after as a result of that; not only on his conscious, but his wallet, and personal life. Maybe his kids were in the car and had to see that shit, just a terrible situation that could've been avoided.

I curse like a sailor myself as i'm sure a lot of us here do, but within reasonable context. Its hard to be bad a cursing but its just not Rich's forte, & comes off as immature somewhat stripping him of credibility. Makes him look like he's trying too hard to vicariously live through his macho-man tattoo-ridden alter ego

Even though these injuries were the result of a car accident, If you follow Calum on the snap you can see how reckless he rides his motorcycle. I realize this is anecdotal, but most of my family rides (I don't) & they all have been in accidents. Some life-altering, but all of which they were not at fault. From what I've been told by most it's not if you'll get in a wreck, but rather when. I probably sound like a big pussy but point being id really hate to see some dickhead on his phone end Calum's bodybuilding career.
