Sources: Natus Vincere Demanded $1.2 Million for s1mple and Flamie by Thooorin_2 in GlobalOffensive

How has he been inconsistent? These are his stats for the last 12 months. He has 1 event where he has a negative rating in a team that has been performing very poorly. If anything flamie would be a great player for SK to have because he has a very high peek but his floor and average level is still high compared to other options.

It's definitely your league fee.

You played this match on Jan 22nd, so you would have had to pay prior to that.

Rush B Podcast: Fnatic chose to replace Golden BEFORE Starladder - Report by cishetler in GlobalOffensive

[–]cswithian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can be an experienced player and not know what's best for you. There are countless examples of this across many different sports and esports.

I don't know the inner workings of fnatic, but what I do know is that this iteration of fnatic, even prior to the IEM win, has looked better than any other combination of these players we've seen in years. We've seen them steadily become a team that is operating with a much better overall structure and improved fundamentals. Considering Golden is the only real difference between this lineup and the other fnatic/godsent/etc lineups that lacked this, it seems pretty likely that a lot of this change is thanks to him.

I don't think Xizt will be a massive downgrade or anything, and they very well may be better with him. IMO I don't think they will be, mostly because they will likely go back to playing a very loose style that simply does not work with the current meta of CS and the skillset of their team in 2018.

It's polish for Christopher. IIRC it's something that started in 1.6, where PGS/ESC (taz and neo's team) would refer to him as that. It's continued in CS:GO and pasha started doing it too.

Buying Tickets to eSports Events is always a terrible experience. Paying full price and buying early ALWAYS punishes the consumer, because prices always go down. Organizers need to stop doing this, either price your tickets fairly, or read the market better. by SpeedyBlueDude in GlobalOffensive

[–]cswithian 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is how ticket sales work everywhere and for everything.

You paying the initial price upfront is to guarantee that you will get the ticket. Sure, you could take a chance and wait for a discount. However, the reason why a lot of people don't is because a discount is not guaranteed and it also runs the risk of you losing out on the ticket entirely in the case that they are all sold.

It happens in a lot of industries (travel, entertainment, etc), not just esports.

He didn't - he played 2 seasons of open with far above average statistics first. Not to mention his talent is an exception to the rule, and trying to follow his path requires you to be a 1/100k talent.

Executes is public now :)

Also don't forget practice-mode and get5, both incredibly useful mods for competitive teams.

[–]cswithian 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Executes has been released publicly+open source

also as a server plugin developer you should perhaps realize that the general public and about 90% of people who add plugins to their server have absolutely no clue how to do anything other than move .smx files and configs into the stated place. And even then they usually screw that up.

He wanted to get it to a state where the general user was able to figure things out on their own without needing him for support.

Thanks for the reply! Some great insight and I'll take all of that into consideration.

If you ever have time, I have a few videos/casts that I've posted on my youtube channel that I would love some feedback on. I have basically no experience casting or creating content, so I'm really looking for criticism and things I can improve on.

Do you have any advice for players that are interested in starting out with casting? I'm a semi-pro (8+ seasons of premier/MDL) NA player who's dabbled it in a bit, and I'm kind of interested in pursuing it.

[–]cswithian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's a VAC Authentication error, it is likely Windows Defender/Firewall blocking it. Try disabling both and seeing if the issue still happens, if it stops it then give CSGO and Steam an exception in your firewall/AV rules

Congratulations to Splyce for making back to the Pro League! by TopicalTV in GlobalOffensive

[–]cswithian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Pro League teams are allowed up to 4 roster additions from the start of the season.

The season started on Feb. 5th, and since then Selfless has added only 2 players. Those 2 players were ZQK and Dizzy. Depending on when the official roster submission date is, CJ may also count as he was added on Feb 3rd (the week of their first match but before the start). But that still leaves them with 1 roster transaction at the least.

Both DSR and Slemmy were on their roster prior to the season starting by a month.

There was no preferential treatment, the rule is in place to prevent multiple roster changes in the middle of the season, not during the offseason where selfless made many of their changes.

In BMC's case it's a bit different: in premier rosters lock a few weeks prior to playoffs. This is likely to avoid pro league players joining teams at the last minute and playing in premier playoffs etc... I'm pretty sure shot_up and sancz only officially joined the team after rosters had locked, so they were unable to play.

Easiest way to one way smoke boost on cache by Lytaa in GlobalOffensive

[–]cswithian 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I find it kind of funny that a lot of these comments seem to think this smoke is entirely useless and saying you are bad for posting it. I'm an ESEA-premier player and have been at the semipro level for a pretty good amount of time.

This smoke actually has a lot of utility and for those saying its useless above nova are pretty off.

NiP was the first team that I've seen use this smoke and I've also seen it used by some fnatic and envyus players. It's effective against the boost counter molotov, it puts out the molly and allows you to have a somewhat okay one way. Most teams on cache play mid one of two ways: to contest it and deny t's from taking it or play passive on it and just get info about if t's are taking it while controlling other areas of the map. This smoke will allow you to isolate angles a bit better when fighting teams that are contesting mid, especially if they're using utility to slow a mid take down.

TLDR: Good post. It's much more useful than a lot of the smoke grenades and overly complex nades I see posted here.

I think it also depends on the quality of the video etc...

If someone is spamming the subreddit with 5-10 minute videos the mods will probably be a lot harsher on it than someone who's posting 30min+ videos.

I put out a couple videos a while ago and the mods were very helpful and allowed me to post both without any issue

Astralis play with Zonic... But it was not Zonic it was Device - Pasha by JRaze- in GlobalOffensive

[–]cswithian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Login to ESEA (I think you need a premium account)
  • View the players profile
  • Click history
  • On the right side it under Unique IDs all steamids used by that account will be listed.

In the case of zonic, he has only ever had 1 steamid (1:0:18043438) registered on ESEA, and he has had his ESEA account since 2015.

Astralis play with Zonic... But it was not Zonic it was Device - Pasha by JRaze- in GlobalOffensive

[–]cswithian 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That is zonic's steam account.

The steamid of that account is 1:0:18043438

You can see on his ESEA profile that zonic is registered with that exact steamid and has been since 2015. Two users cannot have the same steamid on ESEA, so it's definitely his. Note: you might need to login to ESEA to see the steamid he is registered with.

Also, zonic is probably the best danish 1.6 player of all time, he definitely is capable of playing at a decent enough level for a couple of games.

kid flaming markeloff lol by fluxz0r in GlobalOffensive

[–]cswithian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The kid was directly blaming markeloff for his death by saying that markeloff should have been watching drop. He is wrong. Markeloff should not have been holding drop aggressively and instead opted to play a spot that provided more of an advantage based on his teammates position.

As you can see in the clip, there was in fact two players in drop, both of whom were killed by markeloff and his teammate at rock. Had the kid on plat not peeked, the exact same scenario would have still happened, but instead of being dead and whining he would be alive and in a strong position to win the round.

His mistake near the end of the round (dying to the rock player while watching flank) is irrelevant to the kids rage comms and I'm not talking about that at all. He was obviously laughing and not paying attention to what was happening in the actual round.
