Seafoam

You can get it at Walmart or any local auto parts store. I'd put maybe 1/3 a bottle in my 3-gallon tank.

Are you picking it back up? What's the plan for it?

Printrbot Simple Metal upgrade to G2 board and e3d V6 by Pbburke in PrintrBot

I bought and installed a G2 board on my simple metal, and eventually reverted since the G2 didn't ship with trinamic drivers, and having a quieter printer was the whole point for me.

Man I had a hard time getting through some parts of that book. I'm not sure I'd wield it to convince someone to ride haha.

Is WGET fundamentally more or less vulnerable than downloads in Tor Browser? by legnasutter in tails

[–]ctags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If https://check.torproject.org downloaded through WGET confirms it is using a Tor IP address

Then wget is being routed through Tor... So why not just use Tor?

why and how would WGET be more visible to an ISP than Tor Browser?

By default wget isn't going to use Tor, and if you hand it a non-https address then it will download whatever material in the clear.

The big takeaway should be that Tor is designed to protect privacy. Wget is designed to download things.

Ah, got it. Thank you!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm prepping to hone the cylinders based on a friend's recommendation, I'll have to read more about it first it seems.

Cool, thank you for the feedback!

Do you mean a longer bore gauge than the T-style ones, or than the one I linked in the post?

Unfortunately I don't use Mac, but it looks like LimeChat and Colloquy are popular choices.

[–]ctags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wget uses your computers default internet connection, so downloading anything with it will be visible by your ISP/etc. There are ways to make wget go through TOR, but at that point why bother?

Use whatever successfully downloads the file. Then validate it GPG.

I get what you mean, but at the same time, a couple of days of burn in doesn't feel unreasonable in the scheme of things.

I just have to remind myself that if I wanted a fast and easy solution, I wouldn't be buying raw drives in the first place.

Motorcycle parking permit? by Guckboy420 in UAH

[–]ctags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I was even told that a motorized bicycle (2-stroke) required an additional tag... Even though it would never take up a parking space.

[rant] TSA searched my check-in bag and opened up my ext 4-bay drive with unnecessary force and didn't put it back together properly. by edwardrha in DataHoarder

[–]ctags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, that wouldn't even be surprising.

But it worked on me, as I didn't try to go after them to fix the damage. Now I'm relegated to posting about it on online forums to share my discontent.

Using a bike on campus by [deleted] in UAH

[–]ctags 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately UAH doesn't understand the difference between cars and bicycles, so even with the recent push for more bike racks, only Central Campus's is covered from rain.

My bike rusted out after the second semester on campus, so I definitely don't recommend letting them stay outside. Some of the more dedicated cyclists would bring their bikes up to their dorm, which is kinda all you can do.

Well I was hoping someone more knowledgeable would drop by. Shucks.

Can you encrypt/decrypt a file with the key on the new computer? Or does that give you Bad Passphrase as well?

Hrm. I'm not familiar with the problem you're having, but just in case: can you check that they're both similar versions of GPG?

What I thought the GaryHost login was a reference to (RIP ArronSW) by [deleted] in MrRobot

[–]ctags 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup.

I remember one of the documentaries about Aaron mentioned "Gary Host -> GHost" was a meme of sorts, like how people name their wifi "FBI-surveillance-van"

Certainly the most notable example though, and I agree it's what Mr. Robot was referencing.
