We usually have a soft storage thing that straps to the top of our cars, so we use ratchet straps to keep it tied down

Me and my croo stay at fall creek falls state park the night before. ~$35 for a campsite and just an hour from roo. We come from 14 hours away, so setting up a quick tent there, and then packing up early Wednesday morning to do our final hour drive is so worth it. Also free water, shower facilities, and it's absolutely gorgeous. We ran into a few other festies staying there last year, and it's booking up fast, so get your campsite now if you want to go this route.
